I've been focusing on how Leon's existence cancels out Beato's, and one possible conclusion is that, if we assume that Battler's sin was a broken promise to Shannon, Leon was there to fill the void Battler left in Shannon's heart. Any thoughts?

Well, the Kaiten torpedo had a 1.5t warhead, even if it's just TNT that's quite a bit and might fold the cave in from one or two torpedoes...

Nope, different kanji. It's 京 (ten quadrillion) rather than 卿 (lord).

I can get behind the gold painted dynamite theory. If someone handed you one of those and told you they had 10 tons of it you'd give them all the money they wanted.

Apparently a lot of people forgot about this red in episode 5 I guess.

This mountain of gold is the real thing. All of the ingots piled up here are real, pure gold! There are absolutely no tricks such as replicas or fakes!!

Well obviously the real gold is in the next room over and the first room is the gold-painted TNT. I mean how obvious is that!
