@Irenesharda Shigaraki likened the former actions of the League of Villains to an attempt of fighting the last boss of an RPG with level 1 party members (an obviously impossible feat). Now he's treating it like a Sim game where one systematically attempts to whittle down the opponents advantages while building up ones own to achieve victory (like in Civilization).

No prob. Shigaraki did say it didn't matter whether the villain team he sent out succeeds or not in their attack. He wants the heroes to panic. He wants them sweating cold sweat. He wants them on edge because that'll give him a couple more openings to exploit. And instead of using the trainee heroes as bait to lure out the Last Boss (All Might), he's actually aiming for them directly. They're comparatively easier prey after all due to their inexperience. And he'll also be able to slap dirt on the reputation of both UA and the pro heroes in general because of their failure to properly protect the wellbeing of the kids. It's not a random attack by some villain after all. It's an assault on a training camp which is supposed to be conducted in a secret and safe location and was organized by the school itself. You can just imagine the uproar if this went public. Comparing it to a sim game is actually a pretty nice analogy due to this multifaceted approach. All according to keikaku

Which granted is harder these days MMORPGs tend to have stricter level requirements. Well at least Western Ones, I remember getting carried through Boss Fights in MapleStory by a friend. |

Shigaraki obviously doesn't know how to jRPG, you can totally beat a lot of games with a LV1 party! Good episode, besides Magne, everyone seems to have thought things through, really putting the hero side on the spot. The episode's progression is also visible: going from a desperate 1v1 of student vs villain, to show a pro hero 1v1 ending in seconds...and then, a tough 2v2 for heroes, since they have to protect students and all, with a finishing 2v1. Granted, having two students take down a pro villain might be stretching it, but Mustard was full of glee and...well, super weak, he wasn't even immune to his own gas.
Next week is going to start out slow, until they do something about dark shadow...ugh. Berserk powers are the worst. |

Magne was fine. She made smart judgement calls and the fact that she could match Tiger shows she's got experience. Spinner, on the other hand, screwed up a kill shot in exchange for upholding his beliefs. Mustard though, wasted both ammo and time by running his mouth off like the dumb middle schooler he was.
And this reminds me of why I disliked the fact that they showcased the Sports Festival publicly, they basically give away the names and the quirks of future heroes. The fact that he immediately pegged metal fatigue as the reason Tetsu was softening was something that he stated during the sports festival, giving away their weaknesses as well.

That's a hero's greatest weakness, people know almost everything about them: where they operate, what their quirks do, who they ally with, etc. There are waaaaay too many chances to strike fast and hard at them, even for U.A.
I counted Magne out because although he had superior combat prowess, he didn't disengage and go for Madeleine; actually co-operating with Spinner could have cost the hero side their comms specialist, making this whole mission an easy win for the villains. |
