Does chisato ever lactate in the light novels?

Yes she lactates. Basara and her go to a hot springs and form a contract. She uses magic to slow time so 1 day equals 1 year or something. At one point Basara is sucking on her nipples and she has a stray thought about having his baby. Her magic then changes her body to start lactating as if she is pregnant.

Magic doing that sort of thing isn't that weird in a story like this, though. If you read enough stories about magic, you come to expect that it can even react to desires like this.

I think Symonsy's talking about something that happened in a side-story Volume in the novels. Canon.

It's not that weird. Here it's because of magic but actually in RL through issues some women can have a false pregnancy and they lactate^^

Chisato lactating happens in volume 8 towards the end of her contract ceremony with Basara. Departures just took the entire scene out of its original context.

@everyone else it's not magic that makes Chisato lactate. She's in her Afueria state throughout the entire duration of her contract ceremony and that one stray thought caused her power to change her body.

Goddess, not angel. Raphaeline is a goddess, and she's Chisato/Afreija's cousin or sister. And the God Clan also has contracts, so Chisato made a God-style contract with Basara to lend him her power.

@superior13: If her power changed her body, and gods and goddesses use magic power as well, then can't it still be said that it's magic?

i thought godess's contract ritual is different from demons but it's same.

yeah, you could say it as white magic, but i think the cause of it is her stray thought and then triggered some magic to change her body state...whatever..

The amount of power involved in the contract ceremony and time to complete the contract is what makes contracts with one of the Ten Gods different from the master servant contract of the demons. Most people that attempt to make a contract with one of the Ten Gods spend their entire lifetime trying to complete the contract. The ceremonies seem similar, because Chisato made a master servant contract with Basara in addition to her contract as Afueria. That's what required Basara to subjugate her.


It's not magic that causes her to lactate. It's just her raw power changing her body based upon an absent minded thought while she's been in her Afueria form for about a year.
