Second teaser, with lots of goodies. Seems like a Ace Combat 4 remake. |

This game's setting might be the explanation to this: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10233441b6/30/6

Its good they've ditched the DG mode and went back to the old style traditional game-play but somehow I get the impression they're just building on the DLC fest the previous 2 titles had and are stretching it into some kind of F2P game model.
Needless to say as much of an Ace Combat fan that I am, my interest in this since hearing its Pay to play is boarderline zero =[

It looks very much like they're trying to win back the crowd with this game. And who knows? Maybe it'll all work out.
...I'd love to have a PC Ace Combat MMO F2P game. Maybe what they'll do is MP is free, SP campaigns are paid, and like world of tanks, you can either buy stuff for loads of ingame cash, or a few real world dollars.

This change to F2P (P2W) means they've simply given up writing engaging single player stories. Granted the arcade flight thing is very much suited for multiplayer, I'm really not as excited as I should be. From here onward we will never get anymore new titles other than ports of Infinity on the newer systems and PC. |

But yeah, let's see how things go. One thing I have to give props to Project ACES: They've got the balls to try new things, and admit when it hasn't worked out.

Watching the TGS stream basically confirms take the events from strangereal and apply it to the real world. It looks like they're starting off with AC04. Some interesting things about online modes, it looks like squad based competition plus NPC squads. Depending on how they handle perks, levels, loadouts etc. this can still end with pay to win.
Still on the fence, but if it doesn't pan out AC might be in for a worse fate. |

Hmmm. If it's human players vs AI hostiles, that would actually be not too bad. I mean, who hasn't been in those massive furballs and gone, "Man, I wish I had a competent wingman to help me out"?
Still, hopefully it's not pay to win. World of Tanks is for the most part free to play (except for the garage slots. Tempting garage slots. Wanna get more tanks!), and hardly pay to win, and yet it survives, so there's hope there... ditto Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, which was doable without dumping in cash.

Pricing model on Ace Combat Infinity:
http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20130920_616194.html http://67.227.255.239/forum/showpost...5&postcount=37 Q: And what will the pricing model be? Kono: The charges will be for the Sortie Fuel System and items. The Sortie Fuel System will recharge over time, but you can also buy it. Think "Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation," and you'll get an idea of the pricing model.
