The series 'Ya Boy Kongming!' is getting a TV anime adaptation by studio P.A. Works. Coming next year in April (Spring) 2022.

Plot Synopsis

English sources list it as a comedy, but it does not look much like one. A magazine lists it simply as a music manga with reincarnated character.

On Abema TV the anime will premiere on March 31st, so maybe it will also be broadcast on Hidive on that date.

I quite liked the first episode. It has a nice combination of comedy and soul in it.

And also it had a Dynasty Warriors series narrator (Yasunori Masutani) doing narration here as well.

That was more enjoyable than I'd expected it to be, had some funny moments and the musical aspect seemed pretty nice. Quite a pleasant surprise.

production values was a lot better than I expected, and the characters more endearing than I expected.

Really enjoyed how animated the girl's face became thruout the episode from regular to comedic annoyance and yelling. The singing reminded me of the Mars singing voice, probably the same one.

Episode 1 was actually pretty fun, and I can see there was research into the background of the Three Kingdoms, even if it still suffers from some very common misconceptions.

Though to wish to be born in a time of peace, I am pretty sure the historical Kong Ming would not have wanted that.

And of course, he can speak (modern) Japanese...

This was very solid for a first episode and the music was quite better than expected. I wonder if the VA sings the songs herself, since the English actually is pretty good.

Definitely picked up for the foreseeable future.

Though since it seems to be mainly a music anime with Kongming being the gimmick and I haven't really seen many good music anime recently, kinda iffy.
