I really wish there will be a season 2, because I believe there are so many questions unanswered. Has anyone heard anything about this (except for the Ergo Proxy s2 in the 19th episode)? Also, has anyone watched the dvd's to post his opinion?

By the way in Ep 19, its the "Attack of the Ergo Proxy!!" poster, not "Ergo Proxy II". So there is no second season. It's hard to come up with a convincing story for Ergo Proxy second season. You can't repeat another end of the world scenario.

I've already forgotten every plot-point and am totally disinterested, which is sad since I had been thirsting over this show for over a year...I never thought a show that looked this great in pre-production could have such a $hitty performance in the anime community...I never thought it would EVER get to the point where I just don't give a f**k about the show anymore...

Well, for one thing...

they've hinted at it waaay-waaay back when Vincent saw Proxy One in his dream on the train. Didn't we already hypothesize then that the "red spikey hair" was Vincent's alter ego? And I am guessing that Vincent's subconscious self doesn't want to gain those memories back for some reason.

Also, Proxy One = Ergo Proxy. "One" is like an ID number for the proxy, from 1 to 300. For example, Monad Proxy is Proxy Thirteen, while Ergo Proxy is Proxy One.

Oh, and Vincento looks like one hell of a playah. 8)

Well I've always thought they were most certainly linked, but ultimately separate (like, well, brothers or something), since I thought Ergo and One actually look different (similar, but not the same). I suppose One is like a super-power-up version of Ergo or something? Or just Ergo without the mask and a trip to the hair stylist's. It's just that

when One killed the guy in the room of memories, Vincent woke up with a jerk. So One is literally a physical manifestation of his subconscious Proxy thoughts, while Ergo is just that plus Vincent's body?

I also read an interesting side comment by someone about how Proxy Swan sounds kind of like Proxy One. But that's probably just superficial.

I am not convinced that Proxy One and Ergo Proxy are physically separate. I think they are both just parts of Vincent's personality that have awoken gradually.

I think of it in terms of Sigmund Freud's divisions of the human psyche.

Vincent symbolizes the ego, the conscious intelligence.
Ergo Proxy symbolizes the id, the subconscious part of the mind that is driven by pure primitive impulses.
Proxy One symbolizes the super-ego, the subconscious part of the mind that is driven by normative regulations like conscience, morality and ethics.

Ok... so when Vincent woke up after

Proxy One killed the guy in the room of memories, it was either a. he had actually done it, then staggered back to Centzon and dreamed he was doing it and woke up, b. he had actually done it, and then staggered back to Centzon, but they just chose to edit it in a way that Vince woke up right after that scene, although he didn't dream it, or c. while Vincent was sleeping, Proxy One did that stuff, which makes One physically separate from Vincent (but still a manifestation of his thoughts).

c seems the least likely, I guess. If it turns out to be that... ah, Dai Sato.
