Haruta actually has the better part of an entire side volume dedicated to exactly how he landed on his ga-ru-fu-ren-do. Noto and Maya, on the other hand, got a single short story in another side volume in which nothing particularly happens.

This might have already been asked before (actually I'm sure it has..) ..
But, is there a significant difference between the Light Novel ending and the anime ending? Was there anymore closure, after Taiga and Ryuuji meet up in the end? And, possibly, more regarding Ami?!!!?? The true heroine of this story??! :P |

The ending arc is longer and more hashed out. The character motivations are better explained too. If they didn't do two original eps in the beginning the anime would have been close to perfect (for an anime), but the novel series wasn't done at that time... so yeah.
If you're wondering if you should read the light novels, the answer is yes. The anime did a good job but they cut stuff out (as all adaptations do) and it's a fun read.
