For what it's worth, I don't recall coming across any other variant. So I think "Eden Cells" is probably bogus.

What i think is both are just the same and basicaly meaning the *essence* that makes these humans needless. adding the Eden to it gives it the devine aura over it thats all,
naming it Eden Apple makes it like forbidden fruit? or that wich is taken from God without permission. Namely what Arclight believes to be true that people took the powers of the 2nd stole it. The Eden Seed name makes it more general and aims more at it being from God rather then if its forbidden/stolen. What i think is that if you dont believe Arclights version of the truth you wont call it Eden Apple cause you dont believe that you as a needless stole these powers from the 2nd ^^" Moreover you get back to the Adam and Eve story in the garden of eden where they ate from the forbidden fruit and got cast out of Eden. So the reference in the name for the cells/essence that makes a needless is important to certain lvls. Also the entire idea of gaining the knowledge of good and evil is a important aspect of the Eden story, things like guilt, shame, lies all come from the knowledge or so its said haha. Unlocking parts of the brain that God suposedly kept hidden ^^ id say in regard to Needless. Unlocking those areas gains you the knowledge to use power Needless power. Interesting enough Cruz is the one with the most brainpower in this manga |

Imai has a tendency to not feature a same place twice. The course of story to date has been the following:
-Random Sector -Church -Iron Mountain -Simeon (outside) -Simeon (inside) -Unknown place -Underground city (testament graveyeard) -St. Rose -Black Market -Underground city (city) -The same sector from the beggining of the story 7 years ago -Lifiaburg With the characters is pretty much the same, except for the main staff and some exceptions. When the timeskip happens some if not all these places will undergo some changes. Eventually, the main staff will pay these places a second tour. Explore fully the vast world you've created yourself is one of the things that makes a story good, and the author knows that. He wants to give his readers wide variety of places and characters, because there'a so many things to enjoy Btw, it's me guys Last edited by Homura7; 2011-04-06 at 16:44. |

Hi. Who are you?
Wait, never mind, I worked it out... Quote:
On the subject of Eden Cells/Apples/Seeds/whatever, I just had a random thought about the Second. Let's refresh our memory. When we saw his remains during the Adam Project flashback, he looked like this: Spoiler for image:
What happened to his limbs and the rest of his body? One theory is that various other characters (such as Saten) may have come into possession of them. But there's another, more prosaic possibility. We know that the Second's cells were "implanted" into the various Adam Series clones. Now, I'd been assuming that this would involve something like what Ishiyama did to Eve - injecting them with a syringe full of water(?) with maybe a few grams of cells suspended in it - but what if a larger quantity were required? Say, something like a pound of flesh? Over a series of 79 experiments, that would add up to quite a lot. And then there's all the cells that might have been taken in order to make the clones in the first place, plus who knows what other research. Maybe there's no mystery about where the arms and legs went after all.

Btw Wow scans has done up to ch 31 of needless realy great stuff ^^.
And reading that again i forgot to mention another rarity from Cruz. That he broke free of Lilith Temptation on his own... Something impossible for a non Needless as people may have heard from Setsuna:P Blade didnt even break free since his *perfect paradise* was already real all them lolis |

Welcome back Adan. I guess this name is a little easier to spell than the last one.
Yeah, I've been keeping up with WowScans and have reread 31 now that it's scanlated. But I disagree with you on that: Cruz didn't break free from the Lilith Temptation. He did in the anime, but in the manga he only comes back to his senses after Blade punches Setsuna (somehow stopping Kuchinashi's fragrance?). Eve came up at the same time but because her Paradise had Yamada still in it, she thought she was still playing the name-game. At least that's how I read it.

I owe you guys an apology. My recent disappearance has been a combination of two factors. One, I was starting to lose interest in this series - the extremely long time spent in the memory world was starting to wear on my patience. Looks like this, at least, is not an issue anymore.
But more importantly, I started working recently. I went from being unemployed for seven months straight to working 50+ hours a week, and some things got put aside so that I would have room to breath. Unfortunately, my responsibilities for pewpew were one of these things. While I may have more of a presence here since the memory world is finally over, I know I would be unreliable at best to continue my leadership role in pewpew. I suggest that my former staff partner with the new group that's popped up here and get those chapters out as fast as you can - don't let me hold you back! In other news, a new chapter of Needless. If nothing else, the end of this arc is quite amusing, even if it took way too long to get here. Gido's presence at the end is certainly intriguing, though I continue to hope that the memory world antics had a minor effect, at most, on the present. .More importantly though, Mio still hasn't come back. I want more Mio :< |

About Cruz breaking free from Lilith temptation... although I need to go read the scanlation, I'm pretty sure that Blade would've had to break him free, since at that point Cruz still only had the potential to become whatever he is now (I'm still not putting him in the Needless category until we see some sort of Fragment, but he's obviously not human... and we don't have a category for those who posses Eden Seeds/Apple alone...), but was still human. He didn't start becoming non-human until after Aruka killed him and Eve brought him back to life... all of which happens after the fight against the PGS.
Just my two cents on that

You forget about mengrose healing *someone* that gave him that mark, and before that we saw Cruz remembering he was healed by mengrose and Aruka in the background. Coincidence?...
Oh and then there is another thing, if the blast from Arclight damages all that isnt needless howcome it damaged only Eve and not Cruz as well, regardless of being healed with DG hed still be human just like Eve. Last edited by Ca12nag3; 2011-04-07 at 16:43. |

My theory is that Cruz has always had the Eden seeds/Apple within him... after all, Aruka's one of the four strongest, so she's far from a normal Needless. So you gotta figure that there's more to Cruz than meets the eye. I suspect that when Eve healed him with doppleganger, which we know now has something to do with Eden seeds (since zero and doppleganger are the defining abilities of the Adam project, which was using Eden seeds), it awoke the dormant Eden seeds within Cruz

After all, I think that Yamada will tell to everyone what happened in the memory world and with Gido here this would be the best time to have some answers especially if Yamada describes the strange things he do in the memory world. Whether or not Gido maybe we'll have some answers when they arrive in the city as required by 666 (but I hope they not go straight away to the it would be a suicide goin there now). |

I doubt we'll be seeing the city sometime soon. If it were going to be following this arc immediately, Ishiyama and Saten would have escorted everyone to the City instead of just saying "Come to the City" and leaving like they did. It seems like they'll be waiting there for them to come whenever.
I'm kinda curious what they'll learn when they arrive at the city. Ishiyama obviously wants to tell Blade and everyone something about the Adam/Eve projects, but what exactly isn't clear. I'm guessing the focus will be on the Eve Project and Kasumi but I'm not sure why. It'll be interesting since that will be the third time we've gone back to the Adam/Eve Projects in the series. Maybe we'll get to see Ishiyama use Memory Guard properly on Eve to draw out memories of Kasumi? After all, Gido said Eve held the memories of someone precious inside of her, so that might be something to look forward to in the city arc. Whenever that is.

I wonder... Does that mean Eve literally holds Kasumi's memories somewhere in her brain, or does it refer to Gido's memories of Kasumi? I don't have the raw to hand, so I can't look it up for myself. (Not that I would necessarily be able to make sense of it, in any case...)

The comedy should return in Chapter 90. After all, we have Blade, Disk, and Eve back along with Yamada in his PGS uniform.
The comedy took a dip in the memory world due to a few reasons. One was the serious tone of the arc, with Eve's death, Blade's weaknesses, the urgency, and the confusing nature of the world they were in. Additionally, a lot of plot points were used, including the introduction of Stigmata, Eve gaining Doppelganger, and Mengroze's relation to Cruz. Secondly, the characters aren't the best ones for jokes. Sure, Cruz and Saten made most of the jokes during the arc but they're nowhere near Blade, Eve, or Disk's abilities. But that's one of the things I like about Needless and that's the versatility of the cast. Cruz and Saten each were able to play as the gag character and the straight character throughout the whole arc. It's not just there's one character who's always the joker and one who's always the straight man. Honestly, it's an element that's rare to find but it's present in all my favorite shows. That's probably why Needless is my favorite comedy.

That is a very good question that has yet to be answered. However, I highly doubt that the Second was actually immortal... and you have Arclight's "Jewelbox theory" of how he died, while others say that people have the fragments as a sort of legacy to the Second

Maybe we'll learn more about the Second when we get to the City and Ishiyama talks about the Adam/Eve Projects. I'm sure he knows the most about the Second.
Also, only <4 days until Chapter Day. Will be exciting to see what the preview is in 3 days.
