Haikyuu! Season 2 announced at long last!

Plot Summary:

A chance event triggered Shouyou Hinata's love for volleyball. His club had no members, but somehow persevered and finally made it into its very first and final regular match of middle school, where it was steamrolled by Tobio Kageyama, a superstar player known as "King of the Court." This year's 17th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that the Haikyu!! anime will have two compilations films. It is also reporting that the previously announced sequel will be a second television anime season that begins airing this fall. The first film, Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Owari to Hajimari (Haikyu!! the Movie: Ending and Beginning), will open on July 3. The second film, Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Shōsha to Haisha (Haikyu!!the Movie: Winners and Losers), will open on September 18.

Episode 1:

That was fun! Seeing the players like Hinata and everyone else back on the court was really neat.

I also liked the comedy as usual like the ending they pulled there.
Good to see that they have strong rivals to overcome as well. I love how Hinata declared that he will compete in the Nationals with that pride. Great stuff imo.

Hoping this season will also be 2 cour again. This was a wonderful way for the show to return.

Gotta give season 2 credit for episode 1. They didn't waste any time making things get interesting again. Can't wait for episode 2!

My competitive blood is boiling! That opening practice sequence was fantastic, it's worth rewatching over and over! And loved how they set the new bar even higher by introducing "Japan".

And it was great to see Takeda sensei stern up at the end - with the background music suddenly stopping for more impact!

So glad Haikyuu!! is back! And they already start with the worst enemy possible for the team: FINAL EXAMS!!!!!! xDDD
I loved how the music dropped after all that boiled and pumped up hot blood due the whole challening "Japan!" guy when Take-chan said "guys, we got final exams next month and your marks sucks ass.". xD
Looks like next episode will have some more fun and less volleyball in than you'd expect from a sparts anime.^^

What an opener! The opening minutes on the court were amazing! The fluidity of the animation was fantastic and the upbeat bgm really enhanced the entire scene. And all those funny moments: Poor Takeda becoming a zombie (I feel you, man. I really do), the trio of birds screaming, "Aho! Aho! Aho!"

, and the entire meeting with Ushiwaka, complete with that exhilarating showdown between the white bird and the crows.

The last song starting from Hinata giving the ball back to Ushiwaka reminded me something Kajiura would make. Spyair and Galileo Galilei are great as usual. And for some reason I feel like the animation is slightly different from season one (more pastel-like?), but I really like it.

What a refreshing season opener.
