That has been an ongoing trend in anime for a while now, hence the concept of "pilgrimages" to places depicted in a particular anime. It makes for good promotion, and its easier to visualize a scene when you have something real to base it off.

The animation quality has definitely gone up compared to Season 1.

For Episode 4, Honoka's "No Way!" at around 1:35 and Eri from 12:40 to 13:01 is just marvelous animation, the emotions conveyed here are just wonderfully done.

Sunrise is putting those hit Season 1 sales to very good use. Good to see!

She gives A-Rise an added "Oomph!" Her voice is probably the main thing keeping A-Rise from sounding a bit too straightforward.

Honestly, I'd love to hear A-Rise songs for other anime OPs and EDs. I think their style of music would go great for anything sci-fi and techy. Heck, if Sunrise has another Valvrave... I'd love to see L-Elf shooting things up while we hear the BGM of A-Rise vocals, that would be awesome!

Doesn't help that I actually like Blondes and Redheads in real life...

I love how Sora Tokui also did the voices for her character's siblings.

A really touching episode overall, and the realism in geography and setting is amazing.

Eh... drawing Akiba is nothing impressive. Drawing actual small towns or regions around Japan is a bit more interesting.

There's a lot of negativity about the show and the franchise coming to a close in 2ch and other JP sites. Despite the strong reception and sales, I doubt the franchise itself will end but that graduation is looming on fan's minds about the future. Why can't some people enjoy the present and let the future work itself.

I hope they go the idolmaster route and continue producing games and CDs and produce puchimas versions. Or a grad movie ala K-on for a proper sendoff perhaps

The anime is considered a different continuity to all the other media in the Love Live franchise (see how Honoka isn't with Umi in the Kendo club). So even if the anime ends they'd continue on.

They could conceivably go the Mari-Mite route.

Spoiler for Mild Mari-Mite spoilers:

That being said, I very much doubt Sunrise goes that route, as it would be a gutsy thing to do given how attached fans probably are to the full 9.

So more realistically speaking, this is what I'd love to see...

Season 2 ends with the conclusion of the Love Live competition, likely with Muse winning it all.

A hour and a half movie focusing on the graduation of Eri, Nozomi, and Nico, and to give Muse a final send-off. Maybe they can go on a trip to visit relatives of Eri's in Russia in order to emulate K-On a bit.

The A-Rise of Greatness - 10-to-12 episode Love Live! prequel focusing on A-Rise. Have the final 3 or 4 episodes occurring at the same time, in-canon, as the first season of Love Live! End it off with Tsubasa meeting Honoka for the first time (LL Season 2 Episode 3 as experienced from Tsubasa's perspective) making the whole franchise go full circle.

I would be very, very happy and satisfied with that being the full range of the Love Live! anime franchise.

That is exactly what the JP fans are worried about. That is just raising the chances of a 3rd year graduation in the anime timeline.

This is the design that ended up with only 454 copies back in 2010. This design is way too 2000.

What is this other Love Live "continuity" that is being talked about?

I know Love Live had some music videos that pre-dated the anime (because I saw one of them myself), but I wasn't aware it had a full-fledged continuity (i.e. narrative) prior to the anime.

So, where can this continuity be found? Manga? LNs? Sound Stages?

The Love Live music videos and manga are on one side, and the anime is on the other.

For example, in the manga, Honoka and Umi are both still in the Kendo Club (and instead of dropping out of Love Live like in the first season, go on to win a regional Kendo competition), Nico has twin younger sisters, Honoka is Eri's childhood friend...

That's a massive change.

I didn't even know Love Live had a manga. I'm going to have to search this out. Thanks for the heads-up!
