Looking for a new anime for my taste

Hey everyone, I just need a good anime to watch that'll suit my taste....I'm mostly into Action/Comedy animes, but I like Drama as well....Heres some of my favorite animes:

Hajime No Ippo
Naruto
Bleach
Ruroni Kenshin
Genshiken
Great Teacher Onizuka
Full Metal Panic (all seasons)
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (Rumbling Hearts)
REC
Macross Frontier (the first ep. was crazy!!)

I'm really looking for something with the mixture of comedy and action....If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know!

thanks!

hmmm my suggestions are Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, great action sequence and pretty funny. Plus Kamina is stellar! Though Im not as big a fan of the anime as I am of the manga, try Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Funny, almost comedy anime in the beginning but the action gets better as the series goes on. Manga is better though, imho.

Seconding Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Shakugan no Shana is one of my favourite action/romance anime with comedy, drama, and Hecate as well.
I guess you could say Rozen Maiden is an action/comedy, but it focuses more on slice of life-ish situations.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a magical girl (obviously) action/drama with some comedy.
(a bit more and you should go participate in Saimoe.)
Code Geass is a good mecha action series. I didn't like it as much as Gurren Lagann, but it has a bit of comedy, though it focuses more on tactical stuff similar to Death Note, mecha fights with rollerblades, and some dry topics that are quite interesting.

I'm fourthing Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. That show is epicness incarnate.

I will second Code Geass. Very good series, but watch out because it's a bit of a trainwreck. Second season is nigh!

Shakugan no Shana would have been about 200 times better if they cut out 90% of the school-life crap. The animation was pretty, the monsters and enemies were unusual and original, the combat setpieces were well-done, but the slice of life nonsense really made me unable to finish watching it.

Really, Shana (and lots of anime series in general) would be far better if they'd stop making characters that are still in high school. =|

If you liked REC, you should give Nodame Cantabile a try.

If u guys wanna try : Busou Renkin Great anime. one of my favs. watched over 6x animes. Look up the tittle first before watching.

another one u might consider watching would be kaze no stigma.

both animes have good amount of action and romance.

last I would recommend is full metal alchemist. Its so far the best anime i have watched. Try finding the english subbed. and if u manage to finish all 51 eps. u will definitely not be satisfied with the ending without watching the movie. sort of a finisher to the series. GOGOGO FMA

Is there anything out there with an oppressed/abused individual with poorly developed sense of self rising in the end to a nonstandard epiphany?

Hi. I'm fairly new to ani/manga and am looking for characters similar to Kagura (GinTama), Lucy (Elfen Lied), the Gunslinger Girls, Anna Freaks, Rose Hip/Asakura...
My opener was stated in the most general terms: I'm not Russian, unrelenting depression becomes intollerable. So, various shades of dark with sometimes forced madness, paired with desperate light humor might be a good formula for mood.
Anyone with suggestions? Thanks.

Forgive me if I'm breaking ettiquette responding to a so-old post...

but...

I... almost agree. Some things shouldn't be dramatized through the eyes of kids. However, that's how you get some of the most intensely emotional stories.. What would Elfen Lied be without underage characters, seeing how all the diclonius were.

and to bring things up-to-date...

Would anyone be interested in drawing for a cyberpunk school life manga combining Mai Hime, Elfen Lien, Rose Hip, Ergo Proxy and Ender's Game?
