So, um, is Othinus a wrong translation for Odin or what?

Well, if they are trying to creatye gungnir(again) they will need Eiktobel's help because she was the only one who knows about the Final rune and has the potential to use its full power(well, she is the only valkyrie discovered till now). We can expect that Odin will try to use the donati horoscope to increase the power of the dwarf girl, so we have the chance to see Birdway and there's a chance we will see Patricia again.

Anyway, if the girl has the dwarf attribute then she can transform into a dragon like fafnir?

But I like more the alf more because in Norse mythology the original seior was a half elf and she could summon dead warriors, reference to necromancers (they are not so cute anymore right!!?)

It's the same name, just in a different language, that's why none of us were surprised the name 'Odin' sudden;y pops up.

The reason why it said Mjolnr could destroy the Midgard Serpent is because in the story of Ragnarok, Thor was the one to kill it.

But Thor died as well, talking about references I feel Odin wants to free himself from his fate, getting killed by Fenrir.

Thor kills Jormungand but dies after walks 9 steps becuase of the poison. You can see wikipedia for it.

In the actual novel, it is written as Othinus but pronounce as Odin.
Like how Accelerator's name is written as One Way Road.

Othinus is actually Odin's name used in the book Gesta Danorum, which tells the Danish history using Norse Gods as characters.
