Seems this show is going to get a 4th season (not officially yet announced) but Hiroyuki Horiuchi talked about it.

Why did it have to end with a reunion with the 3rd years! Now i can't wait for a the next season.
Poor Teshima, he's too nice for his own good, though if the onlookers never said anything he would have won.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending...
I personally would've never wanted to win that way. Onda arriving at the end was awesome, and he looked FRESH. But in all, I thought these last few episodes were entertaining. I didn't care for much of what happened in the season. Onda was pretty much a side-character throughout the whole thing. But oh well, bring on the next one.

In real-world tour cycling, it's complicated. The sport probably has more "unwritten rules" than just about any other. Generally speaking, you don't attack when your rival has a mechanical problem on a climb. Ullrich waited when a fan's bag crashed Armstrong in 2003 at the Tour de France. Contador didn't when Andy (Abu!) Schleck slipped his chain in 2010 - and Andy was livid. Contador claimed he had to do it because two riders in the G.C. fight had already attacked and were out of sight. Who was right, and who was wrong?
In this instance I think Teshima, if nothing else, erred on the side of sportsmanship. There were no other riders in a threatening position, and he probably realized winning that way would always make the victory feel hollow to him. I don't think anyone (including Manami) would have faulted him for not waiting, but most riders probably would have done the same.
