If you ask me, that's what they get for abusing the poor boy they "love" as if they attacking him for petty to no reason, insults him, hurt him with their ISes, you name it. They treating him like their own personal punching bag. Serves them right.

Another way to punish the girls is for Chifuyu to point out to them if any of them had been more honest with Ichika and ask to be his girlfriend, he probably would have accepted. That would be a huge blow to those girls ego since it would prove how dumb and weak they really are.

It hasn't ended yet. The author is taking his sweet time writing the final volume.

If Izuru Yumizuru, the author of Infinite Stratos, were to make the final volume of the light novel, well then, it better be worth for all the troubles, the hijinx, the slapsticks, the misunderstandings, the hardships, and all the other kind of crap that the world of Infinite Stratos put the poor Ichika through.

I read an old interview in Shonen Jump about the Naruto series. Kishimoto mentioned Hinata was supposed to be a damsel-in-distress princess and also the female lead, but the editor didn't like the character and requested he produce a different female lead... This resulted in the creation of Sakura. Need I say more?

True, it's still the author's work. But I don't have to like it.

That's not the editor's fault. Kishi universally sucks at writing female characters.

Well to be fair it's always about the sales, editors have a better idea of what sells than the writer

Obviously Infinite Stratos is a commercial success and if it's the Houki fanboys that keep the sales going, can't blame the author for going down that path over and over again

I haven’t kept up with the LN for quite some time, but when did Kanzashi “mistreat Ichika” the same way as the other girls and attack him with her IS??? That’s completely out of character for her.

As you may know, Izuru made his Twitter private years ago. However, for some reason he recently made the account public again. I am going through his feed to see any mention of IS. For now it seems like he is really into somekind of mobile gacha game.

Also, he has a Twitch channel now.

In other news, Izuru within the last two years made three short stories, the first about Charlotte, the second about Laura, and the third about Cecilia. The stories were only available online for a limited period of time. I am trying to find out if any thoughtful Japanese fan out there had archived the webpages on Wayback Machine. For now all we know are the basic premise of the stories thanks to the short blurbs in these three news articles:

Using Google Translator, I've managed to get a rough idea of what's these short stories are about.
Charlotte's story is about the amusement park date she made Ichika promise her after he saved her in volume 8.
I forget what Laura's was about.
Cecilia's is about doing some business in Japan with Ichika acting as her butler during that time, as set up by Chelsea.
