Interesting Psychological Plot?

Hi! I thought I already posted, but I can't find the thread so I'm assuming that I have a memory problem...

Anyway... Can anybody recommend a psychological anime with a really really really good and complex plot? I really liked Higurashi, Umineko and Chaos;Head, so basically the kind of stuff that seems to make no sense Bishies are an added bonus

Thanks in advance!

Psychological anime with a really good and complex plot. No bishies, no idiot characters, no comedy.

ergo proxy isn't mecha. >.>; it's (very boring, Neal Stephenson levels of boring) postcyberpunk.

Oh no! I love Ergo Proxy, it's a good anime! In the same style, I prefer Ghost In The Shell BTW.

I think I'll have to point you in the direction of Witch Hunter Robin. It's a great anime with lots of supernatural qualities (also, the art is gorgeous IMO).
If you can stand the blood (and nudity) then also try Elfen Lied. I'm not a huge fan, but I know that a good majority of people who have watched it absolutely loved it.

It's a movie, but Perfect Blue might be worth a look if you're into psychological horror. Plot wise it's not as elaborate as Higurashi, but it does a great job at blurring the line between reality and fiction. Watching it feels like you're going insane like the lead character.

You might try Darker than Black. I have begun watching it recently, I think it could become one of my favorites. It has a good plot, and the story is unfolding quite nicely.

Surprised Death Note hasn't been mentioned yet. One of my all-time favorite anime.

Its explores more of the darker side of human psychology as well as human morals of right and wrong.

Monster, Death Note and Darker than Black have already been mentioned.

Denpa teki na Kanojo; 1st of 3(?) OVA's released in may 2009
