describe it well. It felt… disembodied.

Dammit, stop messing with me! What the hell happened to me?! Did you do any of this?!

“Oh no, I’m just as lost as you are,” she smiled and seemed to stand. Suddenly, she’s much taller
than you are, or maybe you’re that small. She “walks” around a bit, circling you while humming.

“Since you know nothing, I will give you a brief explanation.”

She stops right in front of you.

“You, my dear, are in the Boundry. What exactly the Boundry is, I fear you do not have the
lifespan for me to explain completely. Suffice to say, this ‘space’ is the border between worlds,
a place which the likes of you should not have trespassed. You are quite fortunate that I found
you here. Otherwise, you could have been lost forever.”

Lost, in this terrifying place? Forever? Oh god…

“I do not know what happened to you, nor can I explain how you arrived here. Boundries can
be fickle, temperamental things, and even one such as I do not have perfect control over the
border,” the woman gives you a look that could be construed as apologetic, but also pitying.
“What I do know is that you are a strange, unique soul, one whose power is both tiny and great.
In you, I see growth, but I also see idleness.”

That… that is an interesting way of describing you. It explains absolutely nothing, yet it is
strangely hopeful.

“Then… what are you?” you asked, curiosity getting the best of you.

“Me? I am many things… but I suppose you can call me… a witch,” she smiles at you. For
reasons you cannot explain, a deep shiver runs down your spine. For a moment, barely a
glimpse, you thought her eyes were blood red in color. In a blink, they were once again gold.

“So… what now then? If nothing can be explained, other than ‘it just happened,’ what am I
supposed to do?” you sigh. How strange that you’ve already come to accept your fate…

“Poor lost, sad, lonely Soul… Where will you go?” the woman hummed, twirling her parasol
around. “Ah, but you know, I have a solution for your… predicament.”

“Really?”

“Unfortunately, I cannot bring you with me. That place is already fraught with numerous lost
ones such as you, their destinies intertwining deeply with the local inhabitants. Instead, I can
deposit you in a place that is in need of a lost soul such as you, a place where the right person in
the right time could change everything. In fact, you could say that this is your second chance at life…”

A fan appeared in her hand, opening with a smart snap and covering the lower half of her face.
Even so, you can still see the mirth and trickery glittering in her eyes.

“You are one of infinite possibilities and opportunities, a lump of formless clay that you will shape
with your decisions. But keep in mind: everything you do is by your own power. You’ve only
yourself to blame for any… mistakes. An adventure awaits you, but you must be ready to fight.
This world is one rich in magic and knowledge, a power that you will find yourself strong in, due
to your nature. But first, you must decide on how you will use it.

“Now then, my little Fool… what are you?”

True, but Vivio's a little bit of everything thanks to Nanoha and Fate. The girl can learn anything, after all.

But you are right. Needs more snipers. Nanoha, Hayate, and Vice just don't cut it with everyone else jumping for melee combat.

Hence why I created Nena.

Well, sort of. It was borne from a debate about whether mages could defend against "mundane" but advanced weapons such as particle beam weapons. Nena started out as the antagonist to answer this question.

Now she's become more of a pet project in her own right, beyond simply answering a technical plotbunny, becoming more a part of a bigger idea.

And she started out an expy of Nena Trinity but ended up channeling more of Lockon Stratos than anyone else... ^^;

gaze and no one can avoid my shot,” you answer with growing confidence, feeling it surge through
every part of your body. It pulsates with your heartbeat, stronger and stronger. Already you can
feel that power this witch spoke of, an electrical tingle that simultaneously numbs and excites you.

“Ufufu~” a demure giggle beings your attention back to the woman in front of you, her face still
half hidden behind that fan. With a sudden crack it snaps shut, once again revealing the unearthly
beauty of your… companion. “A soldier has a duty, you realize. Unlike the knight, whose oath
strengthens his will and the weak steels his armor; unlike the warrior, whose battlelust quickens
his feet and victory emboldens his soul; a soldier has duty to give him purpose. Like the others,
you must fight to protect, but unlike a knight or a warrior, you have obligations not only to
yourself, but to everyone. A knight serves the people, those unable to fight. A warrior serves
himself, his own desires. A soldier serves his country, his life owed to everyone. To whom do
your loyalties lay, Leone Meriva? You must discover this yourself.”

What? What is she talking about? What loyalties? What country? What sort of nonsense is this
witch talking about?

“Well, it is of no concern right now. Really, you shouldn’t take what I’ve said seriously just yet.”

Oh, so she’re a mind-reader too? Well, that was no surprise, considering the situation. In fact,
you feel as if nothing could possibly disturb you at all right now.

“But do keep it in mind. Your actions will not only affect you, but everyone around you. So…
are you sure?”

At first, no words came to your lips. Suddenly, you felt nervous, unsure, and wholly alone. This
journey you are supposed to go on; where will it lead you? Will you even go anywhere? Make
the right choices? Do the right things? This anxiety is familiar, an insecurity you’re sure many
others have felt when brought before something so… life changing, but it is still nonetheless
terrifying. Choking, breath stealing, this fear of the future grips your very being.

Will I be all right?

And the words came clearly.

“I am a soldier, both a defendant and a judge. I am both a knight and a warrior, striking down
my enemies in order to protect those close to me. My weapon is both my shield and my sword.
I will always be ready… because I will always be there.”

Yes. You will do fine.

The witch smiles at you one last time, though you feel that this smile is truly honest. There is an
odd sense of pride in her eyes, and you feel proud to have invoked such a response from her.
The smile turns sad, however. A bare twitch in her lips, and you can feel the world around you
dim in response.

“One last thing, dear lost Soul… you must choose the time of your departure. The time you
choose will determine where you will stop and where your… adventure begins. A wise man
once said, ‘early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,’ but such
advice is rarely taken by youth these days…” she sighed, bringing a hand up to her head
dramatically. “Oh, the boldness of children! Even I, a sweet and pure seventeen year old girl,
have been left behind by the energy of youth!”

Seventeen? Oy oy, you’re nowhere near seventeen years old. I bet you sleep all freakin’ day.

Golden eyes suddenly lock with yours, gazing right into your very being.

“Now then, when shall you awaken?”
