Too generic and cliche for you? hey at least this MC is cool and laidback..not dense or boring or whiny as some other LNs depicted.In other words not rage inducing MC plotlines...I usually stay away with that kind of LN like a plague
Hey this LN is only at volume 2 and i haven't fully read it all...so it's too early for me to judge it as a whole...

I noticed the author like to implement some other popular super heroes tropes and ideas from various works especially kamen rider den-O.The MC's girls feels like the imajins from the show (the armour henshin!) and even their sister have the same name - Airi! there are others i'm too lazy to list it...

Some other mini thoughts :
The males and females uses magic differently.the males need tools as a medium to use magic while the females need something to control the magic (hence the armour)...i think?
The anti magic organization is called Yubel.(yu-gi-oh?)They use biological weapons or monsters to attack the mass.The bioweapons itselves can harness and use elemental power of nature.
The setting is year 2022 in japan.The source of magic is a crystal (final-fantasy?) that mysteriously appeared out of no where all over the world
It seems all of MC's harem came from a different magic institutions and the MC sword can shapeshift into a different design

Even though it might diverge later there is no doubt it basically starts the same along with 100, Magika, That one about the kid who is the previous hearo with white and black hair pretty much every LN these days. OP comes to school challenged by Ojou character, who falls for him by the end of the first novel. Not that I mind, mind you. I mean I agree these all tend to be different when they get to flesh themselves out, but the problem often is, especially with the animated forms, that they only cover the first few novels which are similar, and then everyone always thinks, oh another one of these shows.

Although honestly this one feels more similar maybe due to artwork to Shinmai and Rogue Hero to me. I actually thought it was the guy who did Shinmai since the Protag looks like Basara.

These illustrations are very good.

I have a question, how is it described the look of the MC?

I mean he's good-looking in the illustrations, but I've seen some novels where the protagonist is described as average looking, although he is handsome in the illustrations.

Wow no one here is comparing this to Infinite stratos.Some japanese reader says it its way too simillar to IS.Some even likened it as Infinite hyakka stratos Anyway...

Forgot to mention that our MC is very likely adopted.It's no wonder his sister is too intimate and even willing to have sex with him.I'm not really sure if any one them including their father is blood related.

Also Sorata is the only male student in his school! sound simillar? the girls he "bonded" with is the strongest or at least one of the strongest at their respective schools.The maximun he can "bond" with is seven.I'm not sure what would happen if he goes beyond seven...knowing Hobby-Japan probably becoming a sex fiend or something.
Anyway i really do think he purposely play along with the girls so that the "bond" between them is stronger.The stronger the bond is the stronger and more synchronised between the magic and their armour is.Actually he's not interested or sexually attracted to any of the girls...well not yet anyway.i'll say he just practically "use" them because of their abilities and the girls doesn't know it. He just want to become stronger.
