Manga 'Ahiru no Sora' is getting a TV anime adaptation by diomedea. Director is Shingo Tamaki.

Plot Summary

He's short, weak, and has just transferred to a new school. Kurumatani Sora is the main character in this story who loves basketball. He has been shooting hoops ever since he was little and has been trying to grow tall just like his mother, who "used" to be a basketball player. What has happened to her and what Sora is going to do at the new school is all up to you to find out!

Sora is like the kind of underdog that reminds me of Hinata from Haikyuu

A solid start for the first episode and I think there's plenty of room to develop for Sora. I find his character relatable and realistic especially with the school activities. The mood of the show seems to be balanced with drama and comedy. We already got a short glimpse of his past too. Madoka also seems like a strong female character.

Really excited to see the direction of this show is heading.

I liked the first chapter, mc is already that good but I'm pretty sure is going to fail that point, he's good at everything else but he can't reach the hoop.

It seems he got the talent from her mother.

Word is the mangaka rejected earlier offers for an anime adaptation because they wanted to be absolutely sure there'd be enough content to adapt.

I'm also reminded of Dear Boys, which also had a short protagonist joining a basket ball team full of delinquents.

But the delinquents here are a lot more irredeemable. It's going to be much harder to like those assholes.

Playing catch up, as usual of late it seems, but of the new premiers I've watched this was my favorite. Nice to hear we're getting a full year of this.

mmm, not really thrilled by the male basketball team. Let's see how it settle down. Main girl is the best part so far.

Is getting there, some background of blond guy, he truly wants to play, next chapter he will but the first match looks so far away... well if madoka is in every chapter I'm good.
