Actually, I believe that the healing trick he pulled back then was a bluff. I read that this came down from one of the writers, but I didn't read the original article, so I can't confirm. They said to look at Antonio's face during the scene, he knew that Kotetsu was bluffing. And that explains why he was bleeding so much by the time he got to Barnaby.

Really bromantic episode this week. Rotwang really showed what a downright dishonorable piece of trash he is by trying to use every dishonest and manipulative trick in the book to try and get the heroes to betray each other while also talking a really big game about his H-01's abilities. It even seemed like some of the things he was saying were even causing Maverick to have his doubts about their partnership going forward.
Well, the only thing that could possibly get any of the heroes to betray another at this point is their desperation to try and help out Tiger and Bunny, but of course their trust in the two also kept them firmly in their place and no amount of technical trickery or trying to mislead the other heroes as to what some were saying could get in the way of that. It was fitting that for such a big talker he should be put in his place by arguably the weakest of the characters present in Kaede. As for Maverick, I can just tell that Yuri is looking for any slight slip up on his part to bring him in for questioning and to see it all come crashing down around him has been pretty satisfying. I don't think Tiger is going to die though so much as be really badly hurt and not be able to take part in whatever events happen next episode. It looks like they've left time for a wrap up and possible cliffhanger into a second season teaser so we'll have to see how it goes next week. Really hoping for the second season teaser scenario to happen though. |

You know, I've been thinking about it a bit lately, and I think that Kotetsu is going to survive.
Because under recent reflection, it occurs to me that he has yet to truly realize his personal dream: To see his daughter show pride in him, and call him a hero. Now, there can be little doubt in this world, that Kaeda is going to be very proud of her father after Episode 24... but does that matter if Kotetsu himself never gets to hear and see that from her? If he dies just before achieving his dream? It's possible that the anime would go for something very bittersweet like that, but I kind of doubt it. I think that Kotetsu hearing his daughter express her sincere admiration for him would put the final exclamation mark on a successful hero career. And just think for a second about the scene that Kaeda is running into at the very end of Episode 24: Here's the celebrity that she totally fangirls over. The figurative "rock star" who actually did save her life once. The glorious hero Barnaby Brooks Jr. And he's holding the self-sacrificing Wild Tiger in his arms, and is completely breaking down into tears over a man that clearly means the world to him. And that man is her father. And all the other heroes are surrounding him and looking deeply concerned over her father's well-being. Whether or not Kotetsu survives (thought particularly if he dies, of course) this scene is going to forever be etched in Kaeda's memory. Should Kotetsu survive, it'll be primarily a memory of just what a beloved and inspirational hero her father was. I can see it now. Kaeda at her father's hospital bedside, as he just wakes back up, stating how proud she is of him amidst a bunch of tears. "Salarymen" the world over will go D'Awwwwwwww and break down into manly tears. I have to admit that I myself probably would.

Or what is usually shown in anime...
He dies and the daughter hates him for it. Gotta tie it into the PV somehow. Female character wasn't exactly looking happy there.

This "Sunrise only does sad endings/Always kills off its most popular characters" argument is really getting overplayed.
Sunrise has done a huge number of shows. One of its shows has the most ridiculous entirely happy endings that I've ever seen, which some people here are just completely ignoring. It's not like Sunrise only does sad endings, and constantly kills off main protagonists. Quote:
Also, an anime company would fall into a trap if everything it does is focused on "next season". Fans first and foremost want the current show to have a satisfying end. Quote:
If you're right, prepare for a Season 2 that's more angst-ridden than NGE. I don't know about you, but that's the last thing I want in a superhero property. This is exactly the sort of "grimdark" stuff that has really hurt DC and Marvel Comics. What brought people into superhero stories in the first place was their hope-filled and inspirational quality. For stories about heroes who can fly, and do wondrous deeds. Once DC and Marvel lost sight of that, is when they really started to decline.

EP24 angry thoughts
NNOOO!! Kotetsu can't die!!
This is all Maverick's fault! It's over, Rotwang! I've had enough of your bullshit! - Is this The End of Wild tiger, literally?! - Will Barnaby gets revenge of the man who responsible behind the death of his parents once and for all?! - Will Kaede ever take over her father's spot as a Hero? - Will Lunatic ever show up to reveal the truth about all of this?! - IF Maverick finally gets away, will we ever see him again in the 2nd season? ALBERT MAVERICK! THIS ISN'T OVER YET! And god, I hope that creepy bastard Rotwang from EP15 who used the ROBO tiger all along to kidnapped Kaede & other heroes won't strike again in the 2nd season. Well folks, both T&B & Sacred seven will come to an end this weekend. It's time to settle the score once and for all in the finale episode! Last edited by Jeffry2009; 2011-09-13 at 11:45. Well, I honestly don't think Kotetsu will die. If for no other reason than this last episode's preview, that seemed to focus on an all too brief period of time. So, yes, I do believe he'll stay alive - maybe powerless or worse, but alive. Tho, no matter what some people may try to say, this is a Sunrise show, and their fame is well-deserved, IMHO.
I'm actually fine either way, tho. This series has earned my respect already.

I need episode 25 to come out now! I must know the fate of Kotetsu.
I might as well say this, but I've always like Sunrise for the fact that they're not cookie cutter with their work. You never know what's gonna happen to your favorite characters so it keeps you glued to your seat. Most of the stuff they've made are usually original work so there isn't a guarantee for either a happy or sad ending and that's a good thing. Other companies would pick up something easy to do like a harem series or a shameless fanservice manga to animate since they don't have to think too hard about content. All they have to do is make sure the gainax bounce is on point and you got a winner for 12 episodes. I'm not saying they're without flaws because they got a lot of those too. Back on topic though, T&B gives me the feeling of why I started to watch anime in first place. It has this classic hero feel to it that just pulls you in. As of late, there hasn't been a grown up male protagonist like Kotetsu for a long time since they usually would get washed away with all the adolescent main characters and their little convenient powers. All they do is scream their lungs out while at same time telling their grown ass adult counterparts how to live their lives. All 16 years of it...GTHO! LOL Ironically enough, this is also a small part of why I sometimes hate how anime has turned their back on the foundation that they once had going for them. More GAR less moe in the future if it's possible. (I happen to like moe too...see avatar.) Last edited by playmaker2k; 2011-09-13 at 18:54. |

I'm all for a little more gar and a little less moe myself. I think we might be getting it sooner rather than later though. It's funny, a lot of people seem to think I hate moe, but I really don't (I'm actually a reasonably casual fan of Magical Girl for example), I morseo disliked the anime industries tendency of the last few years to put more than the bulk of it's resources into bringing out shows whose primary appeal was that they had moe characters being moe. I wouldn't want to see the pendulum swing all the way in the opposite direction towards Gar characters being Gar though by any means because that might mean we get more schlock like M.D Geist and the pornoviolence OVA's from the 80's...shows that exist for no other reason than for the main character to be an action hero and have little to no soul to them. No extreme is ever good. The balance is almost there as we speak now so again I really can't complain too much about where we are versus a couple of years ago. I wonder if people can see my preferences in character in my avatar by the way. Like it's no coincidence I chose Bright Noah for his garness as well as his intriguing character and Ringo Oginome for her moeness as well as her intriguing character. Ultimately two sides of the same coin. |

You will incur the wrath of the fangirls... You don't want to anger that fanbase ever.... It would be tough for Kotetsu to pull it off after getting blasted by something like that which killed an android. But for some reason, I have that feeling it will all turn out fine.
