Red Mage will likely be DPS/support. If we're getting the trinity again, I'm guessing Dancer will be support/heals and Samurai will be tank/DPS.

RDM is confirmed to be a caster DPS

Its gameplay is based on combinations of self-buffs, magic attacks and melee attacks. It apparently has skills that allow it to get close to the target and then move back to ranged.
It is classified as "ranged magic DPS" so the best guess is that it will be mostly DPS from afar.

It's unclear whether RDM will have healing abilities or if it will have support abilities (like BRD and MCH).


Yoshi-P showed up with a Spiderman T-shirt. No one was able to find a straightforward connection to an existing job, but the most popular theory is that it's a hint to Samurai, because the director of the Spiderman movies is Sam(u) Raimi


The new end game Raid Iteration will be centered around Omega this time, not a primal.

The new 24-man raid will be a based on Ivalice


A collaboration with the "Garo" tokusatsu has been announced:

Pretty cool stuff, but from the look of it, it will probably be a massive grind like the youkai watch collaboration.

Swimming should become available in various areas, like "the Mist".

But there will be new areas in which you can dive, all flying mounts will be able to dive into them.

Could still be melee dps since red mage is caster. Red mage could also be the only on added this expansion. Samurai sounds more appropriate in doma as well

Considering the expansion's introducing a new beast tribe of snake-women(Ananta), I wonder if the developers would make any Monster Musume references/jokes.
Like a snake-woman constantly obsessing over her male Hyur "darling".

Since there's only going to be 2 new classes, I have a feeling the second unrevealed one (likely Samurai) will also be dps so either tank or healer doesn't get the short end of the stick.

That's still unconfirmed. An official tweet appeared stating that there would be two jobs, and it was removed and replaced with one that didn't specify any number, almost immediately.

Some took it as a proof that the jobs will be indeed two, others believe that it was mistake and that there wouldn't be any need to be so secretive about the actual number of jobs if there were just 2.

saw a post elsewhere that sounded interesting. Basically it is with the current jobs and potential new jobs

basic there are:
3x Dex - Ninja, Bard, Machinist
3x Mind - White Mage, Scholar, Astrologian
3x Vit - Warrior, Paladin, Dark Knight
2x Int - Summoner, Black Mage
2x Str - Dragoon, Monk

Basically in Heavensward they put a new Dex, Mind, and Vit jobs in. Now with Stormblood the new Red Mage fills in a 3rd Intellect role. Meaning that the next new job is likely to be a Str dps.

Gives me hopes for a dps samurai. Clue seems to point to it as well. Spiderman shirt. Which was produced by Sam Raimi which sounds like Samurai

Doubt they will add 2 DPS without a tank and healer. DPS queue already very long currently and adding another 2 without a tank and a healer will just exacerbate the problem, especially at the leveling dungeon which will most likely tied to the story again.

That's what brings balance though which makes it more likely
