The hollow shade doesn't prey on negative emotions. Where did you get that notion that it does?

I think you're mistaking immortality with being hard to kill. Someone can be very strong and thus be hard to kill, but still not actually be immortal. Immortality does not automatically come with strength or an accumulating of power, that really depends on the setting of the story. Using the Harry Potter story as an example.

Voldermort was damn hard to kill because of all the things he'd done to himself and set into place, but in the end he wasn't immortal no matter how much power he'd amassed and magical loopholes he'd jumped through to try and make himself immortal.

Also being immortal doesn't make one automatically strong either. Take Wolverine for example. Wolverine's biggest strength is that he can regenerate and that's certainly nothing to sneeze at, but there are still characters within the universe that are a lot stronger than he is.

Actually now that I think about it I don't believe Akihito is really implied to be immortal. Yeah maybe just hard to kill(someone should tell Mirai she should try a decapitation next time! ) so we can throw that immortality thing away but...

Voldemort is already arguably an immortal. You can decapitate him and even destroy his body without leaving any trace and he still wouldn't die unless his artifacts are found and destroyed. Yes, I haven't finished the 6th and 7th book but I have a general idea about him from reading spoilers.

Just because the character ends up dying at the end it doesn't dismiss their immortality. Benares is an immortal undead and probably the strongest being in 3x3 Eyes(he was stronger than Kaiyanwang when he first made him his zombie and he probably is still stronger than him at the end of the series) but in the end he simply depended on Kaiyanwang for his immortality.

Ciel and pretty much any immortal being in the Nasuverse can be killed using the mystic eyes of death. The point is these characters are considered immortal because time means nothing to them and they are pretty much unkillable through normal means.

And also... Wolverine is not an immortal. He has really fast regeneration that's it.

edit: actually watching back ep1... Akihito did say he is immortal but maybe it's a mistranslation or perhaps poor choice of words?

I don't even care about the show anymore. I'm in it for Mitsuki. I drool like a water dam every time she comes into scene. And boy does she make an impression. Every scene she's either extremely sexy or extremely suggestive with Akkey.

They can salvage her character and make her like Yomiko from Read or Die; dorky but not overly clumsy and still badass and competent.
