I always thought that name was a reference to Jack from "Jack and the Beanstalk" which is in most version of the story portrayed as a young boy. Oh, well personally I got more "trap vibes" than "brat vibes" from him. And just as Assassin said, the appearance and instant badassness don't matter, all that matter is if the heart and the soul of a hero! (ok ... he didn't say that but that what he meant, I guess)

The Jack you said, Desrtsku, is the closest kind of Jack our boy protag is, considering what he does prior to the series' heroine's acknowledgement of his hand in... marriage
... Painfully ninja'd by Chaos... heh, being sick really slows me down a lot -_-

Until I read what the brat Jack can do then I will call him Jack THE BEANSTALK
It just annoys me on how he won the marriage by doing that -_- The last name I read about Jack is Jack Rakan and I usually sees his name when I see Akitsuki so yeh, Jack is just been a pretty refreshing name for me right now.

I say, you're too spoiled by Jack Rakan.
Then again like I said, Jack is quite a generic name and I don't think I can be bothered... There's also Sugita's lines in a certain high school boys' anime: "ORE NO NA WA JYAACCCKKKUUU!!"
