In any case, I don't think the episode was particluarly haphazard. The Dragon of Exposition was meh (at least it was a nice dragon), especially the "you must kill Amira" thing (that we all know won't happen), but aside of that everything flowed logically from the previous episode, and the rhythm wasn't particularly off either. |

Favaro's spend half of the story trying to kill or get rid of Amira but never had the means.
And by the time he genuinely started to not think ill of her, he got his hands on some Space Time bending Dragon Claw certainly capable of killing her and the approval of an All Knowing Elder Dragon Sage to do so. Sucks to follow the wind.

I feel a key point in the elder dragon conversation is that the keys need to inhabit a human in order for Zeus or Satan to be revived. We could even end up with Favaro getting the demon key, and Kaiser taking in the god key.

Oh gosh, I am finally finished with finals! So I finally now catch up on all my shows that I had to take a break from for a couple of weeks. I loved this episode too, as we’re gaining speed to the climax. Both the gods and demons are preparing for war, the gods to defend their home, and the demons to take it over.
Poor Jeanne is once again being threatened with being burnt at the stake, and he guardian archangel, Michael doesn't even know as he’s a little busy right now trying to stop Bahamut. That whole scene with that demon haunting her, reminded me so much of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness, or the temptation of Eve in the Garden of Eden. I really hope that Jeanne keeps her faith, and doesn’t fall to the demon’s lies. Satan told Eve that she would see the truth that God was hiding from her if she ate the fruit. Jeanne is being given a similar line. Demonic forces love to not just stop Jeanne from fighting against them, but what to twist her mind too, just to spite the gods and say “This was the one you had so much faith in? Look how easy it was to turn her!” So, I’m really hoping that Jeanne hangs on to her faith and who she is, and she’ll be able to last long enough for help to come. (Which I have to believe it will. Don’t put Jeanne to the stake, not again! Michael, get over there and save her!) However, it looks like Rita is on to the demon, but she’s been caught! What shall she do? As for Favaro, I’m actually beginning to think that HE is the legendary knight saint that is to stop Bahamut. I thought it was Amira, but considering everything that happened to him this episode and how he was able to lift Bahamut’s talon no problem. I think that he somehow proved himself to the ageless dragon, with the whole going against fate thing, and show that he indeed is the promised one. I think the whole “Killing Amira” thing, is actually a test. Saint are by definition self-sacrificing. I think that how Favaro ultimately responds, will be what proves his true worth. I also, shouldn’t be surprised. While Kaiser and Amira are also important characters, this show is really all about Favaro. He’s the one that’s grown the most over the course of the series. It makes sense that he’s the chosen one.

So Jeanne ended up drinking the potion, huh? I was hoping Bacchus would attempt to save her since he was there.. Oh well, can't say I'm surprised considering there's a Dark Jeanne card in game which does look pretty similar. Goddamn, Dark Jeanne looks good.
Amira really can't catch a break. She's been chased and tortured by almost every faction, and now, her mother fades out of existence right in front of her. Amira can at least take solace in knowing her mother doesn't hate her and recognised her at the very end, right? Right? Well, not really, considering she got turned into the completed key. Martinet deserves a painful end and Amira a happy one, kthnx. Know who else can't catch a break? Azazel. He went from proud and powerful to roadkill in the space of a few episodes. As happy as I am that he's still alive, his reappearance was both stupidly comical. Looks like Rita, Azazel (and Lucifer?), and Bacchus will be the ones to save the day but I thought that maybe Fava's demon tail would stop the potion from working on him. It'd be a great ruse if it did, though.. So there's 2 swords capable of taking out Bahamut now, Dark Jeanne's sword and Fava's makeshift Barbsword? Whose seiyuu was singing the ED at the very end? Was it Martinet's? |
