The author supposedly announces something "big" tomorrow, or I assume about 10 hours from now.

If it's the manga's ending, it would be weird since traditionally the penultimate volume would already advertise that the next one is the last. It still could be that, but with another volume, so instead of 5 chapters, 14-15 would be left.

Or doing his routine, the big announcement is something totally disappointing that is only big in his eyes. Going hiatus route with this would be a power move.

Manga ending? Even if you give him 15 he won't be able to close it properly with the pace he has developing each chapter, we are still at the pool and the grandmother was on her knees for more than a month and most of the content was reactions faces.

Mangaka wants to crowdfund an advertisement for Kanojo at JR Shibuya Station to celebrate the manga's 5th anniversary and upcoming 2nd season of the anime.
In his words, "to let more people know of my work; just like how Kazuya crowdfunded a movie, I'm going to crowdfund a prominent advertisement at Shibuya".

It's scheduled to run from this Feb 27th - Mar 31; and hopefully to be posted at "Hachiko Board 2" from Jul-Sept 2022.

Campaign and its rewards are limited to Japan only.

I can stomach Ruka supporting Kazuya, even though he is a piece of shit and shouldn't receive any unconditional love from her given how he doesn't give a damn about her. But supporting Kazuya means supporting Chizuru as well, and that's a big no. I'm sick and tired of the Chizuru supporters. Like I have said, Sumi was insulting enough. Ruka is not going to go Sumi lengths, but she just oozes out the loser rival energy, where she is not satisfied until she kicks Chizuru into action. And surely the time will come when Mami also bends to Chizuru. Maybe by that time, Chizuru will learn how to talk.

But above everything, the author fucking uses Ruka as a last minute save. After all this time, this trash arc could still end with Kazuya's family and friends believing that there were no lies. This better not be the case, better not...

Most of posts in that Reddit thread looks so proud too, as if this series is a critically acclaimed literature in Japan when its already out from Top 50 AFAIK.

The author feels like a beta tester for other authors. Now he confirmed they can be as shameless as possible with providing low quality on a constant basis in return. I seriously consider the possibility he is barely involved in his own work anymore and most of his assisstants do the job for him instead. The one doing the Sumi-spinoff perfectly mimicks his artstyle. Not to mention the back and forth between him and Hiroyuki, always highlighting some sort of outside of work entertainment.

Next week, Negi announces that he discards 5toubun's final arc and continues the work, but the asking price is 1 billion yen. 10 minutes and he would get it, thanking message to KanoKari's author follows. Other authors starts their preparation as well.

Its not in English yet but I read one of the other TL and wasn't really feeling it. The MC is kind of annoying, there's a two page spread of onlookers telling us how hot the 5 sisters are (because of course there is) and the humor seemed too similar to Kanokari overall.

I'm not sure what to make of this most recent chapter aside from reminding us Ruka exists.
