Good grief, this just keeps getting dumber and dumber. Last chapter, I thought less of the Noires because having to resort to kidnapping is pretty pathetic. With this chapter, apparently everyone knows about the kidnapping and no one is doing anything. Why are the judges okay with the cheating? If the kidnappers won (they obviously won't), that would completely undermine the integrity of the competition. Can we please just have some cooking, not chainsaws, not kidnapping, not any other idiocy, just cooking.

It's too late, this manga used to teach us about cooking and now thanks to this chapter we've actually lost brain cells trying to figure out what an amuse bouche is.

eventhough they made it looked so simple without too much layer on it yet it had delivered unique taste compared to don karma's, but turtle meat? really?

glad, there's flashback that showed how they used mezzaluna as a bet to have shokugeki. once again, it's proven both have equal skills, but it's a hardwork for a better dish that lead each of them to victory.

it's funny to see just how many times Souma and Aldini faced each other.. I'm glad that they only bet on Mezzaluna and not on 1st seat
this also means that Souma is not that strong in the academy.. He is vulnerable unlike Tsukasa

I know that. But if he's on par with Souma, then that means he can defeat other elite ten as well.

I'm pretty sure the ranking is supposed to just be a rough outline of how skilled everyone is. It's by no means a concrete measure.

Probably hasn’t faced any others much because of the back and forth shokugeki with Soma. Meaning he hasn’t had many matches with seats on the line

He could, he would, he should, but he won't because that's not the focus now. Besides, you should know better Kanon, there is literally no point in turning this into a power level discussion when even the series itself has the focus of a drunken squirrel and doesn't even bother with said topics, not to mention the fact that this whole arc is being bum rushed as all hell because of how horrid it is. Why do you think they took so long to return with the whole find a woman you want to dedicate your cooking to be the best, theme now? It got dealt with too late and pretty much everybody has lost interest and just want this to end, period.

This manga really should have ended last Arc with Souma attaining first seat and Erina becoming headmistress. That would have been a fitting end. And then do some short stories for Epilogue with a glimpse of Erina and Souma's developing relationship as well as what the gang is up to.

@NAJ: That does sound like it would've been better, actually. But I'm still going to wait and see what the author's going to do because I like staying optimistic.

As for the Elite 10 rankings. I'm actually with Wandering Soul on that one.

pffftt...developing relationship? in shounen jump? sorry dude, none of any other shonen jump's series had ever did that, it would be delivered in jump's way like it always do, makes some implications that dense people aren't aware of.. lol

Well, most of the ones I've read didn't show the development either, but Naruto and Bleach at least showed endgame pairings. For Naruto it's Naruto x Hinata, Sasuke x Sakura, Ino x Sai, Chouji x that-one-girl-from-Kumogakure-whose-name-I-can't-remember, and IIRC, probably also Lee x Tenten (Lee does have a son in the Boruto series, and IIRC his wife is Tenten, but I'm not sure). For Bleach it's Rukia x Renji and Ichigo x Orihime. There's a canon Naruto movie that shows the romantic development for NaruHina, but the development for IchiHime isn't shown anywhere. All we know for IchiHime from the manga is that Orihime loves Ichigo, and the fact that in Chapter 686 they have a son named Kazui. And that Renji and Rukia in that same chapter have a daughter named Ichika.

But there are plenty of Shounen manga not from Shonen Jump that show romantic developments. One of them is History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, and another would be Rosario + Vampire (and the continuation of the manga in another magazine, which was curiously named Rosario + Vampire Season II). Rurouni Kenshin and Inuyasha show them too.

The examples listed above belies your words. The Naruto one particularly made the relationship a plot point in The The Last movie.
