I could do without genderbending the entire cast. Seeing a female heroine in a mostly male-dominated profession is part of the charm for me. Note that we're talking role reversal, not genderbending.

Not sure why you're using Touken Ranbu as an example. The game doesn't really have a story, and is really just an excuse to collect hot guys. And UFOtable was clearly just going with what the game itself pretty much does. If anything it was a waste of UFOtable skills, and the TR Hanamura anime by Doga Kobo was a much better fit for the game, since it plays to the games strengths...interacting with hot guys.

Nezuko doesn't have a male love interest. So you need to dissolve the familial bond for the shoujo audience..... *cough*Tamayori Princess*cough*

Off-topic but I finally got why all the Shinobu scenes we've seen so far felt familiar to me.

Saori Hayami who voiced Shinobu in the recent episodes also voiced Hiiragi Shinoa from Seraph of the End, both had swords, are good with it, and almost have the same hair color.

You would think the Demon Slayer Corps would have better communication. I mean, it took them this long to realize Tanjiro was traveling with demon-girl Nezuko? And they're even knowledgable enough to know her name at this point?

And why didnt Urokodaki sort this out or explained this to Tanjiro before even letting him take the test?
I know that the corps might not be a monolith, but it doesnt seem like they should act whatever way they want, specially a Hashira like Shinobu.

The other Hashiras look cool btw.

Did they really have to waste half the episode on the demon backstory? Combined with last week feels like they wasted an entire episode on that, ugh. I guess they were dragging things out so they could end an episode on that scene? Not happy with that approach though.

At least the night's over. Nezuko is always so cute, even moreso when she switches to her tiny form. And after the demon sob story it was nice to get some humor again with those two slayers bickering.

they just introduced all of the pantheon. there's no way we're not going to get at least some back story in the coming eps. any word on a third cour?
