Just to untangle some things, a little timeline i could assemble, but im not 100% sure of the certainty:

Spoiler:

1.- KN and Kyo become lovers.

2.- KN reads her lovers plan aka DeathNote aka "Destiny Record"

3.- KN and Kyo do stuff, go dates, somewhere around here KN tells him "I like you forever".

4.- KN and Kyo go to some summer festival, the image you can see in the illustrations, Kyo asks her what's next. She replies, "Break up(bid farewell, etc) with sempai"

5.- Kyo is in shock and doesnt know why it became like that, waits for KN at the club room only to find out through Sena that KN transfers out.

6.- Kyo enters in emo mode, reminiscing and analizing what he did and what he should've done with KN, wonders why she didnt tell her about her moving and keeps going to and fro between two phrases: "I will like you forever" and "Break up with sempai". Kyosuke here confirms "I like her" and reconfirms after thinking in the separation "Even now, I like her"

7.- Kyo's been in emo mode for a while and Kirino enters and console him. Here Kirino ask him, "Do you still like her", Kyosuke confirms, to which Kirino can only answer with her classic angry tsun-response: "Oh yeah? あ～～っそ。) Kyo thanks Kirino for her support.

8.- Starting here things become blurry for me as i cant read too much but Kyo still want to talk with KN and via someone (Manami?) they learn of some girl dressed like KN does (or something like that). Both, Kyo and Kirino find KN and they have a long chat about why she left, Kirino feeling towards Kyo and other things. Here KN tells Kyo to choose between her and Kirino, before he could answer KN tells him she was joking.

9.- Apparentely all ends good, KN still goes to Kosaka house, KN keeps teasing Kyo and Kyo keeps reminising about the 2 phrases on (7) and Kirino seeing this gets angry.

More or less that about the timeline i can assemble from the info larethian, karice67 kindly provided and myself could read with my japanese blindness.

Here's a crazy theory... what if Ruri is plotting to get Kyousuke and Kirino to hook up so she can make the "perfect" story out of it? kinda like the slideshow she did at that party

After Kuroneko got Kirino to lay bare her feelings for Kyousuke (to me, it's bro-con feelings), Kuroneko asked Kyousuke who would he choose, but all the way till the end, she didn't give him a chance to answer. And since Kyousuke didn't like the idea of Kirino having a boyfriend, he could understand Kirino's feelings of not liking the idea of Kyousuke having a girlfriend. She wants to be number 1 in his heart. To me, it's the kind of feeling you get when a very close sibling get into a relationship, and you somehow feel a little lonely after that. I can relate to that with my godsister, during our adolescent days. And yes, it's called sibling-complex. Anyhow, Kyousuke felt he shouldn't get a girlfriend until Kirino gets a boyfriend. Darn contradictory in a way. In the end, Kuroneko stayed at Kirino's room for the rest of summer vacation, and in the new term (which presumably should start in volume 9), she will be going back to her new place and new school. Her Arcadia pic has changed: Kyousuke and Kirino welcoming Kuroneko, who brought breakfast for them. Even though, Kyou and KN are no longer boyfriend-girlfriend status, KN said that it's part of her plan and her plan is still ongoing and everything is going according to her plan to reach her Arcadia, with the improvement of Kyousuke and Kirino's relationship. *Smiles evilly*

The complaint I have is this: While Kyousuke and Kirino are clearly being depicted to have serious sibling complexes, Kirino calls Kyousuke "Kyousuke". I'd rather her call him "Aniki" or "Onii-chan". I kind of feel that the author did this to intentionally confuse and troll tease people.

Oh boy, this is great news. Kyousuke's finally learned Kirino doesn't hate him like he thought she did. If he's compromised on being with Kirino until she finds someone, he'll be stuck with her for a while now, as I doubt there's any other guy in her heart other than him. He'll have to face her true feelings sometime. My hope for a Kirino end is burning intensely now.

And about the name thing, Kirino clearly loves him as more than a sibling, so going for the first name basis is just a small step on growing out of the sibling relationship into something bigger.

If Kyo doesnt end up with Kuroneko or Manami, it will be open ended with sibling getting along and being really close. I absolutely think there is no way author will pull a Koikaze here. Kyo's father would absolutely murder Kyo if he did, and I mean it. Besides, no matter how much Kyo likes Kirino, I cant bring myself to think he would consider Kirino as a -sexual- partner.

not so far. IIRC, she's moved to a town called Matsudo which is still in Chiba prefecture. Too far for KN to have commuted to the school, but not so far that she can't hang out with them on weekends.

I agree about the name thing - it's just weird that Kirino calls him Kyousuke (I'm glad that Kuroneko has started calling him 'Kyousuke' too though). Along with that comment about "If she wasn't my sister, I'd have fallen for her, dammit!", Fushimi-sensei really seems to be teasing Kirino/incest fans...

Aye... my take on it is that Kuroneko is following her plan for Kyou and Kirino. At some point, her own feelings and desires may trainwreck with her plan.

Wait..... they're siblings, of course they can call each other by their personal names without any indication of things going beyond siblings.

Well, Kyousuke and Kirino still have some history they need to clear away first, even if they look like they've reconciled so much here. The kind of ending I'm personally hoping would have Kuroneko pitches in and helpes them out somehow.

I think he's saying that because it's uncommon for siblings to call each other by names in eastern culture. Well towards their older siblings.

Well, Oppa and BIL ((future) brother-in-law) go by first name terms, and my otoutos also calls me by my personal name. It's possible, although I admit it isn't common.

It's uncommon, but not unheard of. I was taken aback myself, but I'll need to read the novel properly to see what happened.

It's a one/two year differences between my two otoutos and myself, and we really get along. Probably why we just ignore regular convention.

it's much more common in the west than in the east, though it's not unheard of. btw, Hinata-chan calls Ruri "Ruri-nee". moreover, the author can always explain that the few months in America has Americanized her in that aspect.

I'll do the summaries... when the Chinese translation is fully done. I'd like to finish reading the whole book before doing summaries. With the speed they're going it'll be maybe another 2 weeks, so someone else can do it before then

regarding, kirino calling kyou in first name basis, well there is no previous incident mentioned that she called him like this before. so i don't buy this is somewhat natural as much as being siblings is concerned.

another thing is that when the very first time, at least as it was mentioned, kirino said "arigatou aniki", kyousuke was visibly shocked. it was not only the first time she thanked him sincerely, but called him with some respect too than just "hey, you".

so with this, we can say that kirino is showing/developing some level of intimacy and affection towards kyousuke.
