"Toy Story 3" a bit ago.
Nice end to the series. The baby scared me D: Also stumbled upon "Lust, Caution" two nights ago (Wiki entry). I always run into the borderline pornos when I can't sleep "Oh looks like an asian movie!" 30 minutes later: ".... rape? ... uncut?" It's about a group of students in China that happen to be political assasins (in the 1940s~). Or want to be. Mingled in it is a passionate relationship between agent and target. I gotta say I really liked the actors and the details on screen. Really good shooting. And I have a thing for China in that Era anyway. I really felt with Wong Chia-chi. And the end hit me, even so I expected it to turn out this way. If you don't mind revealing (and partly violent) sex scenes it's worth not zapping away. At least the sex scenes have a purpose. They seem wild, yet cold - it defined and reflected their whole relationship. The little glances of the actors speak volumes. Characterization through intercourse! But oh well, I really enjoyed it, I'm a little sad I missed the beginning, though. I have a talent to run into movies like that. Last time it was about a secretary that discovers her masochistic side through her new boss (dunno the name). They are always on the government financed channels, too . |

WE ARE.... PENN STATE....
|
Saw Unstoppable last weekend. Parts of it were filmed near Penn State's campus. A lot of people stayed in the theater when the credits rolled to see the credits for local people and businesses, like the Nittany & Bald Eagle Railroad.
It was a pretty good movie. It kept a few key points of the "Inspired By Real Events" intact, but obviously heavily dramatized a lot and made some big Hollywood changes to the physically possible. Overall, I was pleased with the attention to detail for a lot of the train mechanics, though. I also liked that it was set in Pennsylvania, despite actually happening in Ohio in real life.

Monsters I though it was like the others , an army vs aliens but no , it was better than this.
First , it tooks place in Mexico , which changes of America.. , this tell the story of 2 peoples trying to go back at home but here comes the mess. Well , great acting , pacing and emotion. A bit slow but it's ok. Great staging , interaction with the people , the surroundings , bgm.... And Tentacle rape Sad ending yeah. |

Inception. Thought it was brilliant which is big praise given I'm not a big fan of decaprio's.
It was an interesting and engaging watch with top notch special effects and soundtrack. Defiantly recommend it. Also recently had an epic Ghibli marathon with Howls moving castle, Princess Mononoke, kiki's delivery service, Laputa, Castle in the Sky and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and I'm now utterly convinced that Ghibli can do no wrong.

Ah, I'd forgotten about this one... wanted to watch it for the 'historical authenticity' geek in me to see how well they did. The trailers looked somewhat good anyway.

I just watched SDF Macross: Do You Remember Love? last night. And I couldn't believe it took me so long to get around to watching it. I really, really like the animation style of this film. It's pretty~ Plus, a love triangle where I wasn't entirely biased toward one side! I love both Minmay and Hayase, so the movie's ending was bittersweet for me.

In my opinion, movies this year were not too good. So I think I'll put in those that were worth it.
Toy Story 3 - This is the first movie where I sobbed like a girl at the end. 99/100 Despicable Me - Heart warming, even if it was a bit cliche. 76/100 RED - Awesome badass movie with a balance of character colors and a great story. 92/100 Sin of the Mother - A wonderful coming of age story. 92/100
