Winners of the 2014 AnimeSuki Choice Awards! 74 people voted this year so thank you, everyone, for your participation. Any feedback on how the awards can be improved are welcome. Thanks to felix for all the hard work in organising the Awards and thanks to Konagaka, Triple_R, Sackett and Blue-kun for their help as well. Feel free to add any discussion, but please try to keep it friendly and refrain from flaming winners that you didn't support (I'm looking at you, Pocari Sweat). Final Results

First of all, big thanks to Haak and felix for all of their considerable work in helping to organize these awards. Also thanks to Blue-kun, Sackett, and Konakaga who helped Haak and felix in this endeavor.
This may be the most varied list of award winners ever, with no show winning two or more genre awards. It's good to see a truly varied array of winners, which I think reflects the varied tastes and preferences of the Anime Suki community. On a personal note, I'm glad to see Madoka Magica, Love Live!, and Kill La Kill do well, as all three are amongst my all-time favorite anime shows. Haak has given me the go-ahead to share with you an alternate banner for Best Female Lead, as there was some disagreement on that particular banner. So for the Homura fans here, you now have two banners for your girl!

Oh, Gundam Unicorn managed to snatch three awards (Best Sci-fi, Best Soundtrack, Best OVA). That is sweet and well deserved. I thought it will lose the soundtrack category since there's a lot more Madoka Magica fans here in Asuki, I'm glad that many people appreciate Sawano's stellar work in Unicorn. I'm also glad that Unicorn managed to win the Sci-fi category after fierce competition with Sidonia which is equally good.
All in all, it's a very nice result. I think all the winners deserve the awards they got (especially that tie between Best Male Leads XD). Also, Hunter x Hunter Best TV series!! Yyyyeeeeaaaaah!!! *fist pump* And Mako actually wins! Never thought my favorite loony side-character will actually win considering the other contenders. I also wanted to praise Madoka Magica for the job well done (love the Rebellion movie) but I'm afraid I'll just preaching to the choir . I'll let the other fans do it.

I am surprised to see that tie between Shiroe and Ginko. For some time, I thought that Ginko would have the lead. Now Log Horizon winning best world setting *fistpump*.

Even if it did not win often I was pleased to see Nagi no Asakura in the number second place in more areas than expected. Also nice to see Log Horizon doing as well as it did.
And Ginko certainly does deserve recognition in my opinion, so that was nice to see too. Thanks so much to all who made the effort to organize and see through to the end these awards this year again. ^^

Almost everything as predicted. I just feared Log Horizon wouldn't win anything so I'm positively pleased that it won in world setting and Shiroe tied with Ginko as the best male lead.
I'm surprised though that Barakamon didn't win anything and I expected F/SN fans to be more dominant. Ping Pong in the end won only in its own genre category in spite of all its many nominations.

Question to the organizers: Why all three Gundam Unicorn banners must be the pictures of the said mecha? You'd think with three winnings, the human characters at least deserve to be featured in one of the three banners. Gundam Unicorn is a story about people and their struggles, you know. At least give us a banner with Banagher, Mineva, or Char Full Frontal in it .

I wonder how many of the people who voted for best movie have actually seen Kaguya-hime no Monogatari and still prefer the Madoka Magica movies over it. I just get the impression that a lot of the voters haven't even given it a try at all. Rebellion is a really well-made film that left me with a strong impression, but I still doubt whether it's a worthy sequel to the TV show.
I honestly expected Love Live to win best TV series, but it's still nice how it got this close. And it did win the SOL award which is great. While I haven't watched a single episode, I guess it's nice for such a well-liked long-running anime like Hunter x Hunter to finally get some real public appreciation. I certainly did not expect Isshuukan Friends to be voted as best romance. It was a really good show, but it never gave me a strong romantic vibe due to its slow nature and being a partial adaptation. It would have been my vote for SOL had it been eligible and if Love Live wasn't aired. Finally, I'm very happy to see Nagi no Asukara's 2nd OP win the best credits theme. If only I could vote for Space Dandy's godlike OP though. |

It's sorta true. Rebellion pretty much was voted by me by default because I didn't see much anime and yes I didn't think it was the best thing ever. Homura was going to be voted in even if she appeared for 2 seconds, so that's life. Then again, I couldn't even think of female characaters out of the shows for me to nominate. It could be debated Homura wasn't that well-written in the movie but I mean I nominated a character from that mediocre Glasslip with "Saori Hayami voices this character" so it's not like I was feeling the competition, lol.
Aldnoah is in for ongoing tv series but no Shigatsu lulz. Slaine Cane OP. (Though, i blame myself for forgetting to nominate). But it all seriousness, F/sn barely edging out Shirobako is interesting. I consider Fsn/Shirobako/Shigatsu (87/85/82, while Rebellion would be 78 to make up numbers) to be pretty close together to me personally, with F/sn being the best but not by much. Also, HxH is the best.

Well, I have to say that I'm pretty happy with virtually all results. I'm saddened that Sidonia didn't manage to nab at least the SciFi category award and can't say I'm a fan of the overall choices for the best credits theme but those are peanuts.
Also: YEY for Mako getting best side-character!

Also pleased so of the other awards especially Kill la Kill for Action, and Gekkan Shoujo for comedy both well deserved in their genres. Log Horizon deserved male for Shiroe even if it will be back next year where I feel more people will vote it in other sections .
