I don't know if this is been said before, but the first chapter of the manga of which the entire first episode is adapted to was supposed to be a one-shot. So the manga-ka ended packing in a lot of drama with the mindset that it'll won't continue. Obvious that didn't happen, but at least he can go on expanding the series based on his original intentions. I'm guessing this is why the first chapter (and thus the first episode) seems so jarring at first.

As an avid Perfume fan, I couldn't help but notice the plug in ep. 2.
Here's the original ad: And the back of the magazines in ep 2: Spoiler for ep 2 screenshot:

Finally given time to watch a bit of anime, so I finally got caught up to episode 5 and so far, all the episodes have been enjoyable. Really like all the characters and it really helps for me when all of them are pretty cute. And I love following the relationship between Ushio and Sumika.

Episode 6. Lovely. Dead-on voice-acting. Interesting relationships. Funny comedy. "Nice done," to quote Tomoe. This show doesn't seem to get much love, but I'm actually enjoying it more than Kimi ni Todoke, to be honest. With the mangas, it's the reverse.

I enjoyed this episode a lot. From the banana peel segment and Sumi attempting to be clumsy to her threatening to out Akemiya at the end. When it comes to making me laugh by simply standing there with a bemused expression, Sumi is unbeatable. Though Ayahi Takagaki also plays a large part in it.
Yuri and comedy make such a nice blend. Must be why this and Kanamemo are two of my favorite recent shows. |

another yuri?
I watched the 2 first eps of this series, and it looked nice to me in many ways. Though the OP is horribly annoying (put simply, I hate it almost like I've never hated an anime song before, completely tasteless in my opinion).
Then I'm fed up with stereotypes, and just as I was thinking: hey cool, the girl likes girls and say so from the very beginning, we have the annonying and plain boy fitting in girls suit who is in love with the tsundere I've seen so many times before. Yet, the animation and the outsets are wonderful. Sometimes it's funny too, though it felt like the "actions" are always a bit "overacted". Anyway, as far as I know, since Maria-sama there's been no cool pure yuri series, I'm happy. I'll post again when I catch up with the eps.

oh man, that 1/2 second flash of Kazama at the bath was worth the price of admission. i'm constantly surprised at how good the animation is in this show. though the people seemed a little out of proportion at the very end.
and yeah, poor Sumi. i really do hope she gets her good end. and Akemiya gets the short end of the stick again. stuck in the eternal friend-zone, just like Sumi is. i can relate to that pain.

While I've gained the general feel of the show by now, an appearance by the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man was not among them. I also wonder if Manaka and Kuroko use the same "computer parts" store. It seems to be the cats' meow, even if it never got to its intended target.
