Eh. It was fun while it lasted. I remember continuing my contribution in signatures and avatars using photoshop because I originally got repped for one of them and I thought that was awesome. Even had a shading/colouring spree of mangas between Naruto and Bleach. At least it was sort of useful and it gave me a reason to use whatever skills I had with the program.
Sad to see it go, in a way, but if the stories in this thread are any indication, there were positive factors to the system. I think the ability to express positive feedback wasn't bad. The negative feedback was unnecessary, (If a post really offends, then it's straight to 'report post') but I feel the rep system certainly helped and encouraged contributers and did foster good behaviour. Happy xmas!

Gee, I thought something was wrong with everything (my browser, ISP, OS, etc) when I didn't see that last reputation received box at the bottom of my Usercp
Here's something funny about my experience with that. I sat on 2 green bars for 6 years (partly due to the forum deletion of 2005). In the last 2 years I accumulated 6 bars. That's a lot of silly mangatronism I said in just 2 years So, I encourage everyone to use the visitor messaging from now on! Please, it would seriously help my PM inbox, that is full practically every time I log in I know my avatars and signatures have always been interesting mesmerizing so a simple question in the VM's would do nicely |

I think that we all should keep a truly open-mind in assessing how this experiment works out. That being said, I do see some irony in how, on Christmas morning, a means by which members could give other members gifts has been removed.

Posreps to all the mods who voted in favor the system's removal. Oh wait.
Now waiting to see how many people change their tune. We took out the site's Stealth Rock so how many new things will rise? Is AnimeSuki naturally positive in its community or was it something else? I await the result.

Fatigued coming home from an anime con at that time, and seeing rep system gone was a shock. But changed my mind on the next day after some pondering on the situation. I welcome the Animesuki without rep system. *goes back to celebrating Christmas, there's some food downstairs

That's right! And this rep system retirement ruined my Christmas plans!

Well, more seriously, it'll be interesting to see what Anime Suki is like over the next two months. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

In 2005 when the forum deletion happened, I thought it was the end. I really did. But what got deleted was what I posted, not what I would eventually post in the years since. And that's why I'm still here, the only forum I managed to live in for almost a decade. Now I suggest the forum show the post counts under our avatar, to see who spams the mostACK *mangatron is bombed* |
