IIRC, the two main characters' names begin with H.

About 11-12 volumes as far as I can remember. Maybe less.

And all four main characters' names start with H. So H2 you can say it's about relationships between 2 main male characters, 2 pairs of couples, or even between couple A and couple B.

I liked the looks of this anime from what i found on animenfo, but is the series complete?

Im a little confised since according to the info available its 34, according to AnimeSuki its 39, and by ANN its 41 episodes, but according to the torrent list on 24 are subbed. Whats happening to the rest? I dont really want to get into another show only to find i cant get the last few episodes hehehe

The anime probably covers 1/6th of the manga, and will leave you hanging.

Mangascreener have scanlated about have the Manga so far, up to volume 16, which is past the anime by a long shot.

H2

Hiro has two loves, baseball and porn, but due to an elbow injury, gives up baseball, choosing a school with no baseball team. His sister Hikari attends a different school with baseball ace Hideo and the two wish Hiro had not given up baseball. Hiro joins the soccer team but meets Haruka, a very clumsy girl, who is manager of the unofficial baseball club. When the soccer team challenges the baseball club to a game, with hopes of humiliating them, the baseball club nearly loses until Hiro, disgusted by the soccer team's arrogance, switches to the baseball club.
from animenfo.com

The rating on AF was quite high, but since there are only a few reviews Im not sure what to think. Anyone can fill me in on this one?

Episode 1 was enjoyable enough.

Thing that bothers me tho, I can't speak japanese but I sure as hell can speak enough japanese to hear that the subtitels are way off

From experience I thought i switched on the subtitels from an english dub, but since there is none(it's not licensed hehe) That wasn't the case.
Either it's my bad judgement or something is wrong.

Do tell me.

edit:
what the hell? I performed a search for H2, turned up with nothing, aarrghh!! disgrace!

i decided not to bother getting the anime, since there's only 25 episodes. I just went with the manga instead, and all i can say is its funny as hell. Shame the people translating it stopped before the end so im stuck but it was really good untill then.

They didn't stop, as far as I know. It's just not one of their priority projects

Would you mind sharing with us the ending when you are done? I'm quite curious about who ends with who and what happens to the "battle" between Hiro and Hideo

No kidding. I've been following this for a while now, and I promise you that the translation doesn't get any better. I'm living in Japan, trying to get my Japanese up to the conversational level, but it still isn't that great. And I still can tell very easily that these clowns don't speak any more Japanese than I do. Either that, or they believe in the Carl Macek "subtitle the scene, not the dialog" philosophy. Honestly, they're just making this stuff up!

Judging from their past releases, they've got pretty good taste. It's hard to believe someone who watches what they watch can be so incredibly half-assed about the whole thing. I keep watching, thinking that if I turn on the subtitles, they'll help pick up the bits that I missed, but I'm not sure that's such solid logic on my part.

And now that I hear the anime doesn't even go half way, I'm seriously looking at trying the MangaScreener manga translation as a substitute. For some reason, I thought the manga was only a six-volume miniseries. I guess I was wrong.

Just finished reading the Manga Screener translations up to 17 (NEED MORE!!!), and I agree, they're great. If you don't want to quit a quarter of the way through the series, or if you just agree that ILA's translations suck, then you should read them.

Except for one thing. In volume 12, "Shaved Ice?" WTF? Maybe they like to eat "iced cream" in the summer, or start basketball games with a "jumped ball." My friggin' god, what is wrong with people?

Fake edit: And just so you know, it's "shave ice."

"Shaved ice" is what mainland haoles call Hawaiian shave ice. Of course, mainlanders don't actually eat shave(d) ice, since they actually call them snowcones (even if it's the same damn thing). Neither do the Japanese, who call it kaki koori. No, the only place to get shave(d) ice is in Hawaii. Unless it's a Hawaiian-themed place on the mainland. You get my drift.

Trust me, you will be laughed at if you say "shaved ice" on any of the inhabited islands of Hawaii. Except for maybe inside the hotel. Hotel staff usually know to just smile and nod.

That's a decent point, but H2 is is Japan, and since my policy is to translate things into English, I'll go with the more common term (see above).

I'll keep that in mind if I ever have to translate anything set in Hawaii, though.
