Ah, the joys of introducing someone to a new anime. Though it's even more hilarious if you both have no idea what you're getting into (For me, that'd be anything by Shaft)

After Nanoha's henshin is when it starts to differ from the series. Probably not as much as you'd like, but the differences are definitely there.

Probably not, but let's see if I can get that far to view the differences and enjoy them.

They changed Nanoha's ringtone! (Also she wakes up with an alarm clock now) Sacrilege!

About the part where she wakes up...

Did anyone find an issue with Nanoha sleeping with her twintails on? I'm personally quite baffled by this shortcut they took, when they bothered to show her with her hair down back in S1.

I guess I never payed that close to detail, lol.

Well, one theory would be is that she was so exhausted from training/battles, that perhaps she forgot to take them off, or the artist just forgot to make the alteration. Somehow I don't think a few second scene between Nanoha with twintails and Nanoha with her hair down was intended to be a shortcut. There were a lot of minute changes in the movie between scenes, this is probably just another one of those.

But she had the pigtails even back before she transformed.... just too lazy to not untie them? Personally for me it's a small, annoying nitpick; I liked it better when she woke up with her hair down and messy. It showed some more detail and such. But eh, it's only a movie, need to make cuts for animation and time limits.

The pigtail thing is an obvious miss from the animator. Maybe they will fix it in DVD release?

For Nanoha vs Fate final battle, I found that it is more reasonable that Fate blast the condensed energy spear into Nanoha before taking Divine Buster binded, then Nanoha go high in the sky and blast STB, but it is more badass for Nanoha in the TV to engulf the condensed energy ball through Divine Buster, then bind her for STB. Which representation do people like more?

Movie version. As awesome as it may of been for Nanoha to blast through Fate's Phalanx Shift, it made her ultimate attack look weak in comparison to what wasn't even Nanoha's ultimate attack. Her STB is much more overkill in the movie version anyways, so it's not like the awesome factor was lost. Plus, it added an extra bit of spice to Fate's Phalanx, even if it inevitably failed to do much in terms of damaging Nanoha, just like in the T.V. version. Personally, I really loved the transition of Fate putting up the five barriers just as STB was heading her way.

I never was good at picking up small detail like that...

But in any case, fighting random monsters and getting rather badly injured makes hairstyle a bit lower in priority.

I'm just more nitpicking that it was that way before she even became a magical girl, but eh, I'm a detail Nazi like that. Especially since the first season actually put some detail into the fact that she slept with her hair down and messy.

It's ok, I did comment on the ringtone/alarm clock.

I would think when you go to a movie you should stay seated for the whole movie. Of course some can't help it (emergency, something else very important that can't wait). I really doubt there will be a movie showing without someone standing (at least the movies I've gone to).

Even with the subs, it might take a better quality for me to see the Nanoha movie in its entirety.

That didn't take very long. But I'll wait for the HQ version. Only way it'll ever keep my interest.

It probably won't keep my interest being meta-fiction anyway and changing all of what made MGLN season one good...

But that LQ camrip will look horrible on my new laptop, so yeah, no.

Oh shiz, after rewatching the camrip with subs, I realized I was right on my assumption. One of the reasons Precia realized Fate was different was because of how good she was with lightning based magic.

Some parts make me QQ more now that I know what's being said.
