OMFG. I LOVE THIS SERIES. I'm hoping it'll be as good as Unsung War. by far the best in the series (though Shattered Skies comes close).

My #1 all time favorite game series, finally RETURNING! It's been a long two years since Ace Combat 6.

HELL YEAH@! It's about time! But I noticed that they've been straying away from the world they created in Ace Combat 2-6. No more Osea, Yuktobania, Gracemaria, etc....

I've been playing Ace Combat 4-6 (loved the Unsung War) and after watching Assualt Horizin it just literally sent chills down my spine... The awesome effects and scenery of the trailer and the cool feature where you can see if someone is tailing you is by far making me immediantly wanting to buy this when it releases. Ace Combat was a game that I just had to play, and with this yes

There is just one thing I'm nervous about...this game is set in the real world, no more fictional nations or armies.

Does that mean they'll cut back on ALL the sci-fi elements? Super weapons? Proto-type fighter jets?

I hope not.

I hope not.

That would indeed suck, but a more realistic game environment might make up for it. (although I did love the Super Weapons that were overly used in previous Ace Combat games)

I believe instances in the trailer point it out. The two waring sides during gameplay are fighting over Miami.

i m just curious about the apparent destructible environment, wonder if it will have any gameplay applications, like blasting a canyon or a building causing debris to fall on your enemies.
sad that the world is not in strangereal anymore but earth. the FALKEN must somehow makes it into this game, besides Ace combat always features at least one super prototype plane.

man i haven't played Ace combat since the ps1. Judging from the trailer i think i will get the new one just to bring back memories plus it does look pretty amazing.

Wow those graphics sure look great. The AC series always excelled in having amazingly modeled aircraft but this really pushes the limit.

I'm a bit wary of the apparent switch to the real world. I've always found Ace Combat's own world based on real life to be really brought to life by the combat and the cutscenes and I really got drawn into them, especially with Five and Zero. I hope the switch to an alternate earth doesn't change it's narrative focus.

Likewise the hints Project Aces seems to point to a shift in flight and combat mechanics. I hope the series doesn't take too much of a drastic shift towards a more arcade-y shooter experience.

The great thing about the games, especially in Five and Zero, was not only the fact that both games were rather connected in story history (many of the events in Five were a direct result of Zero, especially the nukes), but that the scenes between the fights focused on both the pilots in the wars but also the people on the ground. Both military and civilian, giving a much more human face to the conflict, with the silent protagonists of the series being the focal point.

Some have even suggested that the leads of AC4 through AC6 are the same person!

All Nagase was in, was Unsung War (5th) besides AC always changes its timeline/storyline/war events/etc/etc with every-single new one so we will never see the same characters ever again.
