Well most people usually stop, when the hear the whistle,
so there was no reason to stop playing.
Reminds me of one of the games during the week,
where one supporter blew in his/her whissle and a player thought
it was the referee and stop to play.

Yeah I know...but still you gotta feel sorry for the Koreans. That was a bit confusing.

France is one team that I havn't seen play much.. and I havn't heard much good about them ^^; Well.. they are playing Spain next, so if they are to win they really would have to play good. I saw Australia play, and yea! they made it =) but it was close, though not a good move by Guus Hiddink with changing the goalkeepers >.> I dont think he will be making that mistake twice, Great goal by Kewell to tie the match.

Anytakers on who is going to win? =)
Spoiler for -> Up coming matches:

Well... they played a good, rapid and smart football so they deserve their win and qualification. Too bad that Ribery missed some goals but France's spirit and confidence that were missing in the previous plays is back now.
Now with Zidane back in the team they can play a good football against Spain. Spain is a very good team but they played until now against teams whose defense wasn't that great. France's one will give them more problems.
It will make a 1-0... maybe 2-1 but I can't say who will win.

That has got to be the most boring England win I've ever seen. As expected from Eriksson.

That match was rubbish compared to the two yesterday, Germany never stopped attacking, while the Argentina vs Mexico match was simply breathtaking. While I am fond of England, for the sake of neutral fans that wish to be entertained by this World Cup, I hope they get dumped out by the victor of the Portugal v Netherlands match later today. Seriously, England have the right players but the wrong coach.

The free kick by Beckham was fun, and whats funny was that Roberto Carlos sent him a text saying "Score a free kick for me"... ha

Great matches, the Argentina game was amazing, best game ever. That goal at ET was also amazing, it cant compare to J Cole's goal.

Good luck to Holland....

Argentina vs Germany, now thats a quarter final

What a disgrace that Portugal/Netherland game was. I thought they were going to start brawling at any second. And I can't believe Netherlands couldn't score with so many chances. They had 20+ shots on goal and still nothing.
Was hoping they would tie it up and win but oh well.

I think the Holland/Portugal Game has got to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. It's like a battefield! 16 yellows and 4 reds!!!!

Portugal vs England next round. If Portugal have any players left

I take back what I said about hoping Portugal/Holland would beat England. At this rate, England might just sneak through to the semis as both teams in this match had lost their minds and pushed the self-destruct button.

Nah, portugal can easily beat england with their 2nd team.
But they'll definitely run into trouble, if they get into the semifinals.

That game was so wrong... O.o

In the beginning Netherland attacks Portugal's Ronaldo (that was the trigger for the "war" I suppose, because Ronaldo had to leave the game after the first 30 minutes)

The coach of the Netherlands wasn't going to even think about bringing Ruud van Nistelrooij into the game (wth? Is Ruud proscribed by the coach? Such a stupid decission).

The referee did some serious mistakes...

Netherland had so many chances to goal, but I still wonder how it did not work out.

11 times yellow cards, 4 times red ... omg, thats just very wrong
(edit seems I did not count all the yellows )

anyway, i dunno what you all worked up about England and portugual, no matter which team wins, they aren't gonna get to the finals anyway.....

Of course I'll eat my own leg, if they do beat Brazil/France, by then i won't need them anyway....

Australia were 5 seconds from a possible extra 30 minutes of World Cup adventure at least. A great pity. I'm still not sure whether that penalty was questionable or not. Italy should count themselves lucky here, though Gianluigi Buffon did excellently to help the 10-man Italians hold on. Australia just lacked the firepower.

Still, a better game than last night's England match.

I have serious doubts about that penalty. Shameful. Well, Italy will not last long anyway: either Argentina or Germany will crush them.

Italy had a strong defence to hold against Australias attacks and both teams played an excellent game. Down one man, it would be hard for Italy to get through to the semis. Its quite sad that the the winner of the match was dictated a meagre penalty.

I think Brazil will meet Germany in the finals. I haven't yet decided who will win yet

One interesting fact though, when Italy lost to Korea 4 years ago, the Korean man who scored the deciding goal for the match was fired from his Italian team.
Its because of this reason, that I wanted Italia to LOSE!! Those sore losers.
