I think that Accelerator can probably do it, considering he once borrowed enough energy from the Earth's rotation to slow it down for 5 minutes. And I still don't know if he was using the fullest of his limited calculation for that.

Actually, firing the Railgun would be alright. The Amazing Punch broke the rules because Gunha was using his arms. The only people allowed to use their arms in soccer are the goalies, after all.

On the other hand, this is crack. We can take certain liberties with it.

But Accel can't probably reach the Moon, from my understanding, he needs the vectors to be close to him somewhat. Since he stands on the ground, of course he can use the rotational energy of the Earth. The Moon however is in space, far out of reach.

Hmm.... Do you think he can reach it if he used his wings? From what I could remember, Accelerator could use his wings to grab vectors without his hands and he could probably extend his wings far enough to make contact with the moon.

Then again, I could be wrong.

But the snippet was just crack in the first place, so it's not like I had to completely follow canon and its mechanics, right?

So, I just came up with this weird idea while reading the Necessarius SS.

The Amakusa males, in their infinite (lack of) wisdom, decide to start a "Tease Itsuwa Day" with their first act being to keep Itsuwa out of the loop. Will Tsushima and Itsuwa ever realize what's going on and put a stop to the zany hijinks of the men?

Misaka Mikoto and Accelerator stood together and gazed at a certain spiky-haired boy. Both were undeniably enemies, but they had to put their personal matters on hold when he was involved.

“That idiot… he always keeps important things to himself,” Mikoto thought aloud.

“If you’re that concerned,” said Accelerator in a mocking tone, “go ask him what’s what yourself.”

“Oh, you want me to go bother him because you’re too much of an antisocial jerk to go ask him yourself?”

“…alright, we’ll shake it out of him together.”

So they went to Kamijou Touma, who sat with his legs crossed and arms on his lap; a dire look was on his ghastly-colored face.

Accelerator tapped his back with his foot lightly to get his attention. “Oi, shithead.”

Touma slowly turned his head up at the two espers towering above. He nodded, and he seemed very intent on keeping his eyes fixed upward. “O-Oh, Accelerator, Mikoto… What a nice day, ha ha…”

Mikoto let loose a spark of annoyance from her forehead. “You’re really are hiding something from us, huh...”

“Look, his skin is starting to flush,” Accelerator snorts. “He’s such a bad liar that it’s embarrassing to watch him squirm.”

“I-I’m feeling down—a little bit f-feverish,” sputters Touma as he stares at the horizon. “Don’t mind me; Kamijou-san is used to these kinds of misfortunes happening.”

It was then that sharp-eared Itsuwa rushed in and crouched down to Touma’s side, a certain something in her hands. ”Do you need a wet towel to keep yourself cool and wash the sweat off your body?” the Amakusa suggested, extending such a towel to him.

Touma’s jaw locked in place, eyes frozen on Itsuwa’s body.

His shock ended when a certain silver-haired nun came out of the ocean, floaters on her arms. "Toumaaa,” she drawled out, arms on her hips as she stood over the paralyzed Touma, “why haven’t you come in to play with me? You’re not going to repeat your behavior from last time, right?”

Immediately, Touma shot up and rubbed his belly intently. “I-I think I’m feeling something in my stomach!

“What—”

“O-Oh, it’s probably a real bad case of explosive diarrhea!"

“Uh—”

“I-I BETTER RUN OFF TO THE BATHROOM RIGHT THIS INSTANTTT!!!”

Kamijou Touma left a cloud of sand and confusion in his wake.

“Che…” Mikoto rubbed sand out of her eyes. “He’s probably right about being sick...”

“…so, this was your plan along?” Kamijou Touma muttered those words as the Magic God Othinus twirled her lance like a veteran majorette.

“I despise false appearances. I want to see and hear who people truly are. Breaking those very human illusions… that was my dream.” Othinus smiled ever so slightly. “And now it is done.”

Kamijou should have contested her vision in some way, but right now his brain is too garbled. Even if he were to stand up to Othinus, he couldn’t hope winning against her. Salty waves rose up to their ankles as they observed the scenic surroundings.

“One question, Magic God-san…”

“Ask away.”

Kamijou then pointed to familiar figures frolicking on the beach besides them. And, pulling at his hair, he screamed out, “WHYYYYY?”

“That isn’t a proper question.”

Kamijou took in a deep breath. “Why… all this… nudity?”

“Clothes are such a bother and unnatural,” said Othinus, not even slightly concerned about her nakedness and that of everyone else in the world, including Touma. “It’s an arbitrary social construction. If I want a perfect world with no lies, the first step is destroying the pitiful illusions regarding our bodies.”

“DON’T APPLY YOUR NUDIST COLONY FANTASIES TO EVERYONE!” bellowed Touma. “NOW I UNDERSTAND THOSE SHAMELESS CLOTHES FROM BEFORE!”

“You say this, but you keep eyeing all those girls—”

“HOW IS A UNFORTUNATE GUY LIKE ME WHO ALWAYS GETS PUMMELLED WHEN HE SEES GIRLS NAKED SUPPOSED TO ENJOY THIS KIND OF RIDICULOUS DREAM WORLD?!”

Now, if you excuse me…” Othinus began to whistle and twirl her weapon. “I’ll go find myself a boyfriend and make up for the time I invested to reach my dream.”

After a minute, Othinus had wandered away from his view. This was the situation the secret pervert and nudist Magic God Othinus had created with her infinite possibilities: a nightmarish world of that would fit the wildest dreams of Aogami Pierce. With reluctance, Touma stared ahead and tried to psyche himself up for what was to come.

Unsuccessfully.

Erk, I kind of wrote myself into a corner. There's not much else beyond that setup. There's only so much millage with pee-pee and cooch jokes.

I'll probably have to figure out something else since Othinus isn't that bothered by what's going on. Well, at least it gave me a laugh.

Why did I write this instead of doing my assignments?

Take the saying ''Never bring a knife to a gun fight''.

Isn't that just common sense? A fighter coming into the scene armed with only what he thinks is sufficient is bound to find out the hard way that he is severely outclassed weapon-wise. It's simple pragmatism, really, the fight quickly becomes extremely one-sided when one side just absolutely trashes the other with little-to-no effort. And it's not just an hypothetical situation or thought experiment, examples abound throughout history of civilizations dominating their era due to superior weaponry.

Take for example the Assyrians. They were the first people to start using iron weapons instead of bronze which, to put into a modern perspective, is sort of like showing up for a knife fight against a nuclear warhead. Using iron made the Assyrians so near-invincible that, really, the other civilizations might as well have been swinging around bananas.

The same could be said of the Persians, the Spartans, the Roman Empire, the Mongols, the Ottomans, and many more. Basically, weaponry superiority garantees you the path to victory.

This is nothing new. In fact, it could be said to be quite the established theory. And most people believe that no one will ever overturn that theory.

This is, of course, false.

There is no such thing as an ''established theory''.

No one can ever know when an ''established theory'' will be proven wrong. In fact, it happens in every field, not just history.

And Infinite Stratos are no exception...

Let's go back to ''Never bring a knife to a gun fight''. It is actually quite inaccurate.

For starters, it all depends on whether the knife-user is skilled and/or the gun user isn't, which is somewhat compounded by the fact that people without proper training often massively overestimate their own ability to use a gun effectively.

Close combat weapons are also superior to guns in certain environments, such as close quarter battles inside buildings. All things being equal, guns are better at distance of 10 m or more. At 3 m or less, the knifeman really may win. Between 3 and 10 m, everything depends on the gunman's skills (or rather lack of them). Most people are able to shoot only one shot at the time a running man can cover that distance, and if it misses, the knifeman has the edge.

What says that only an IS can defeat another IS?

Currently, IS are said to be the strongest.

Be it the army, the navy, or the air force, no military force can stand up to them, to the point that those powered exoskeletons have become a threat to the world's stability. IS are superior to any conventional weaponry, in terms of firepower, agility, and durability. If tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of soldiers and tanks gathered to fight those monsters would casually wipe them all out.

Simply said, IS render any conventional weaponry obsolete.

If at first it was only thanks to the Alaska Treaty that IS were banned from being deployed in armed conflict, with this point of the treaty now moot, the IS forces built inside the countries' military now functions as an effective deterrence to prevent involvement of IS. War did not end, but this forced peace was better than the alternative.

War becoming nothing more than battles between IS.

Because single humans against IS would always lose, no matter how well equipped they were.

And normally, a single human made of flesh and blood carrying around a rifle would be put against even more ridiculous odds. It would border on comedy, if not for the fact that it could only reasonably end up a tragedy.

However...

His Metal Eater M5 in hand, Hamazura's expression turned bitter.

''…What am I supposed to do?'' he muttered in a trembling voice. He was atop the central branch-like curved tower of IS Academy, where the Academy's monument resided.

Hamazura shook his head. He had to focus, he knew what he had to do, even if this plan was more of a semblance of a plan than any actual way to come out alive of this ordeal.

Usually, when someone is in serious trouble, they, even on the fly, have to think of a logical, sensible and reasonable strategy that can get them out of it with as little loss as possible, in the best conditions possible as well.

Hamazura, at this point, pretty much disregarded logic and would even be able to tell it to go fuck itself.

Well, considering the kind of ennemy he faced, trying to plan ahead would be a pointless exercise. What little strategy he had has been "shoot at it until it breaks out the big guns, and then figure it out from there."

He watched as the silver frame of the rampant military IS, the [Silver Gospel], flew high into the air, way above his position (something like 200m up), and, for a brief instant, Hamazura felt as if the monster was looking at him, like an eagle preparing to dive on its prey.

And then he watched as the [Silver Gospel] pressed the wings extending out from its head forward to aim its cannons, 36 barrels in total, all at him.

The next moment, numerous energy bullets shoot out, raining down on him.

This was the ''multi-directional'' attack that the data provided by the US Army indicated, the main advantage of the [Silver Gospel], a secret weapon that could (and was) only be defined under the term ''Classified Military Secrets''.

(Even the firing rate is ridiculous...!)

The quantity and speed—it was not just that the rapid fire was really fast, but since those were explosive bullets, one touch could be enough to create a single crater.

Hamazura had immediately taken cover, but he did not escape unscathed.

Booming explosions.

Hamazura managed to get behind the pillar-like structure serving as the tower's head, but the explosive flash of light seemed to pierce into his retinas. Intense pain ran through his head and his sense of hearing was almost completely gone. A burning pain covered his entire back. He frantically rubbed his eyes as his vision was filled with pure white.

(Damnit!!)

He tightened his hold on his Metal Eater, gritting his teeth and waiting for the pain to subside.

Conventional weapons can't seem to penetrate IS shield, and on top of that, even scoring a direct hit on an IS with conventional weaponry is a challenge, due to its agility. However, Hamazura reasoned that, with .50 cal rounds capable of blowing up an entire tank from 2 kilometers away in a single shot or two, a feat not even Raufoss Mk-2 rounds can do, the Metal Eater might be useful.

Using any firearm other than the Metal Eater M5, like handguns or semi-automatic rifles, would be a complete suicide.

"My turn you piece of crap." He came out of his cover, lifted his anti-tank automatic rifle, aimed at the center of the exoskeleton...

He had no confidence in hitting it at all.

Hitting a fast-moving target accurately from a fixed platform is not very easy.
However, a number of methods have been developed over the history of aerial warefare to provide defense against hostile aircraft.

The Metal Eater M5 was one such method.

So instead of trusting in his abilities, Hamazura trusted the gun's abilities.

Hamazura smiled and fired.

Gunfire and a thunderous roar flashed for an instant.

And almost immediately, the recoil's terrifying impact pierced through his right shoulder, and Hamazura was actually sent flying by the recoil. The incredible force swept and threw him into the pillar. Overwhelmed by agonising pain, he spat blood. Broken ribs must have pierced his lungs, he thought distantly.

The recoil was definitely not ordinary. An amateur would most likely end up blasting their shoulder.

But he didn’t even have time to recover from the pain of the recoil.

The Rogue IS dodged to the side, Hamazura's attacks not even reaching it. The [Gospel] used the specialized movements to dodge the attacks and counter.

And so it countered, by sending a barrage of laser grenades at him.

However, Hamazura continued to smile even in that hopeless situation.

Time seemed to slow down.

(Ahhh! I messed up...Another plan, hm? Why do I have the habit of taking reckless actions subconsciously...?)

Ah yes.

Her.

He would lay his life for her. Not out of obligation.

But of his own free will.

Hamazura thought before getting up out of sheer will. He forced down his self-preservation instincts and charged straight forward, shooting from his anti-tank automatic rifle, now more used to the recoil.

He now had a plan.

He still had plenty to learn, but his studies of the construction of IS in preparation of the ''uprising'' weeks before may have been what had allowed him to determine which parts were important.

And where he could shoot inside them.

With its sturdy energy field, IS could not be destroyed even with a nuclear weapon. However, an explosive within the IS could destroy the components within.

He remembered that energy shields consumed massive amounts of energy to create. Even one of the lesser generations used twice the energy of a low-stability plasma cannon. As such, few people knew this but the energy shield of the IS wasn't always uniform. Sure, in normal combat mode, the shield was extended everywhere on the armor's surface, but when an attack was concentrated on a certain point, more energy were directed on that certain point, meaning the delicate balance of equal energy everywhere on the armor was broken, leaving an area somewhere more vulnerable than the others.

This made it quite a delicate area, similar to the weak point on invulnerable heroes' skin, such as the Greek Achilles or the Germanic Siegfried.

So what would happen if he found it?

How much of a debalancement would be put on the shield, and how much time before the shield was discharged?

It was crazy enough to work.

And all he needed was to reduce the distance between him and the IS.

All of this took 5 seconds.

The laser grenades fell on the ground.

And caused a tremendous explosion shortly thereafter.

The great explosion caused by the laser grenades expanded just behind Hamazura's back, but he had counted on it.

By getting up at the appropriate time after being thrown by the recoil of the Metal Eater, and thereafter running in a straight line towards the hovering IS, Hamazura hoped to use the explosion as a mean of propulsion to reach the IS while it was distracted by dodging his attacks.

Toaru Majutsu no Index/Infinite Stratos crossover

It's not a crossover in the sense that the 2 universes merge (at least, not completely), or there is dimensional travelling involved, but only Hamazura and his circumstances are brought to another universe.

It's the parallel version of Hamazura existing in this universe.

Basically, the story would begin with a reenactement of the Skill-Out uprising, only this time happening in IS Academy. As you may know, the whole social structure in the Infinite Strato's universe has turned into a figurative matriarchy, with a grumbling male populace remembering the ''good old days'' of when they were the boss but now just reduced to whimpering labor.

In those circumstances, it wouldn't surprise me that ''male supremacist'' terrorist groups exist.

Skill-Outs could be such a group, but more accurately a group protecting males from being abused by misanthropic females, bad guys not really bad and actually pretty nice, like in Toaru canon. There, Komaba Ritoku would have been slightly manipulated by ''Phantom Task'' into unwittingly doing their bidding.

So Skill-Outs plan to disable the communication networks of the Academy and to kidnap Tabane Shinonono and/or Chifuyu Orimura, making it a plan in 2 parts contrary to canon. Of course they fail, Komaba dies (not sure, maybe he is arrested), and the rest of Skill-Outs, to avoid purging their sentence in prison, are forced to do community work in IS Academy, aka they are the janitors.

Developing from there, it would be the accidental meetings between Shiage and the IS cast, particularily Ichika, who is not the only male anymore.

And of course, later on Hamazura becomes the first human to defeat an IS (and no, he would not be the 2nd ''only male pilot'', that's cliché and boring as fuck), with all the consequences ensuing...

As you can guess, too much Heavy Object influenced me.

Isn't that just common sense? A fighter coming into the scene armed with only what he thinks is sufficient is bound to find out the hard way that he is severely outclassed weapon-wise. It's simple pragmatism, really, the fight quickly becomes extremely one-sided when one side just absolutely trashes the other with little-to-no effort. And it's not just an hypothetical situation or thought experiment, examples abound throughout history of civilizations dominating their era due to superior weaponry.

Take for example the Assyrians. They were the first people to start using iron weapons instead of bronze which, to put into a modern perspective, is sort of like showing up for a knife fight against a nuclear warhead. Using iron made the Assyrians so near-invincible that, really, the other civilizations might as well have been swinging around bananas.

The same could be said of the Persians, the Spartans, the Roman Empire, the Mongols, the Ottomans, and many more. Basically, weaponry superiority garantees you the path to victory.

This is nothing new. In fact, it could be said to be quite the established theory. And most people believe that no one will ever overturn that theory.

This is, of course, false.

There is no such thing as an ''established theory''.

No one can ever know when an ''established theory'' will be proven wrong. In fact, it happens in every field, not just history.

And Infinite Stratos are no exception...

Let's go back to ''Never bring a knife to a gun fight''. It is actually quite inaccurate.

For starters, it all depends on whether the knife-user is skilled and/or the gun user isn't, which is somewhat compounded by the fact that people without proper training often massively overestimate their own ability to use a gun effectively.

Close combat weapons are also superior to guns in certain environments, such as close quarter battles inside buildings. All things being equal, guns are better at distance of 10 m or more. At 3 m or less, the knifeman really may win. Between 3 and 10 m, everything depends on the gunman's skills (or rather lack of them). Most people are able to shoot only one shot at the time a running man can cover that distance, and if it misses, the knifeman has the edge.

What says that only an IS can defeat another IS?

Currently, IS are said to be the strongest.

Be it the army, the navy, or the air force, no military force can stand up to them, to the point that those powered exoskeletons have become a threat to the world's stability. IS are superior to any conventional weaponry, in terms of firepower, agility, and durability. If tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of soldiers and tanks gathered to fight those monsters would casually wipe them all out.

Simply said, IS render any conventional weaponry obsolete.

If at first it was only thanks to the Alaska Treaty that IS were banned from being deployed in armed conflict, with this point of the treaty now moot, the IS forces built inside the countries' military now functions as an effective deterrence to prevent involvement of IS. War did not end, but this forced peace was better than the alternative.

War becoming nothing more than battles between IS.

Because single humans against IS would always lose, no matter how well equipped they were.

And normally, a single human made of flesh and blood carrying around a rifle would be put against even more ridiculous odds. It would border on comedy, if not for the fact that it could only reasonably end up a tragedy.

However...

His Metal Eater M5 in hand, Hamazura's expression turned bitter.

''…What am I supposed to do?'' he muttered in a trembling voice. He was atop the central branch-like curved tower of IS Academy, where the Academy's monument resided.

Hamazura shook his head. He had to focus, he knew what he had to do, even if this plan was more of a semblance of a plan than any actual way to come out alive of this ordeal.

Usually, when someone is in serious trouble, they, even on the fly, have to think of a logical, sensible and reasonable strategy that can get them out of it with as little loss as possible, in the best conditions possible as well.

Hamazura, at this point, pretty much disregarded logic and would even be able to tell it to go fuck itself.

Well, considering the kind of ennemy he faced, trying to plan ahead would be a pointless exercise. What little strategy he had has been "shoot at it until it breaks out the big guns, and then figure it out from there."

He watched as the silver frame of the rampant military IS, the [Silver Gospel], flew high into the air, way above his position (something like 200m up), and, for a brief instant, Hamazura felt as if the monster was looking at him, like an eagle preparing to dive on its prey.

And then he watched as the [Silver Gospel] pressed the wings extending out from its head forward to aim its cannons, 36 barrels in total, all at him.

The next moment, numerous energy bullets shoot out, raining down on him.

This was the ''multi-directional'' attack that the data provided by the US Army indicated, the main advantage of the [Silver Gospel], a secret weapon that could (and was) only be defined under the term ''Classified Military Secrets''.

The quantity and speed—it was not just that the rapid fire was really fast, but since those were explosive bullets, one touch could be enough to create a single crater.

Hamazura had immediately taken cover, but he did not escape unscathed.

Booming explosions.

Hamazura managed to get behind the pillar-like structure serving as the tower's head, but the explosive flash of light seemed to pierce into his retinas. Intense pain ran through his head and his sense of hearing was almost completely gone. A burning pain covered his entire back. He frantically rubbed his eyes as his vision was filled with pure white.

He tightened his hold on his Metal Eater, gritting his teeth and waiting for the pain to subside.

Conventional weapons can't seem to penetrate IS shield, and on top of that, even scoring a direct hit on an IS with conventional weaponry is a challenge, due to its agility. However, Hamazura reasoned that, with .50 cal rounds capable of blowing up an entire tank from 2 kilometers away in a single shot or two, a feat not even Raufoss Mk-2 rounds can do, the Metal Eater might be useful.

Using any firearm other than the Metal Eater M5, like handguns or semi-automatic rifles, would be a complete suicide.

"My turn you piece of crap." He came out of his cover, lifted his anti-tank automatic rifle, aimed at the center of the exoskeleton...

He had no confidence in hitting it at all.

Hitting a fast-moving target accurately from a fixed platform is not very easy.
However, a number of methods have been developed over the history of aerial warefare to provide defense against hostile aircraft.

The Metal Eater M5 was one such method.

So instead of trusting in his abilities, Hamazura trusted the gun's abilities.

Hamazura smiled and fired.

Gunfire and a thunderous roar flashed for an instant.

And almost immediately, the recoil's terrifying impact pierced through his right shoulder, and Hamazura was actually sent flying by the recoil. The incredible force swept and threw him into the pillar. Overwhelmed by agonising pain, he spat blood. Broken ribs must have pierced his lungs, he thought distantly.

The recoil was definitely not ordinary. An amateur would most likely end up blasting their shoulder.

But he didn’t even have time to recover from the pain of the recoil.

The Rogue IS dodged to the side, Hamazura's attacks not even reaching it. The [Gospel] used the specialized movements to dodge the attacks and counter.

And so it countered, by sending a barrage of laser grenades at him.

However, Hamazura continued to smile even in that hopeless situation.

Time seemed to slow down.

(Ahhh! I messed up...Another plan, hm? Why do I have the habit of taking reckless actions subconsciously...?)

Ah yes.

Her.

He would lay his life for her. Not out of obligation.

But of his own free will.

Hamazura thought before getting up out of sheer will. He forced down his self-preservation instincts and charged straight forward, shooting from his anti-tank automatic rifle, now more used to the recoil.

He now had a plan.

He still had plenty to learn, but his studies of the construction of IS in preparation of the ''uprising'' weeks before may have been what had allowed him to determine which parts were important.

And where he could shoot inside them.

With its sturdy energy field, IS could not be destroyed even with a nuclear weapon. However, an explosive within the IS could destroy the components within.

He remembered that energy shields consumed massive amounts of energy to create. Even one of the lesser generations used twice the energy of a low-stability plasma cannon. As such, few people knew this but the energy shield of the IS wasn't always uniform. Sure, in normal combat mode, the shield was extended everywhere on the armor's surface, but when an attack was concentrated on a certain point, more energy were directed on that certain point, meaning the delicate balance of equal energy everywhere on the armor was broken, leaving an area somewhere more vulnerable than the others.

This made it quite a delicate area, similar to the weak point on invulnerable heroes' skin, such as the Greek Achilles or the Germanic Siegfried.

So what would happen if he found it?

How much of a debalancement would be put on the shield, and how much time before the shield was discharged?

It was crazy enough to work.

And all he needed was to reduce the distance between him and the IS.

All of this took 5 seconds.

The laser grenades fell on the ground.

And caused a tremendous explosion shortly thereafter.

The great explosion caused by the laser grenades expanded just behind Hamazura's back, but he had counted on it.

By getting up at the appropriate time after being thrown by the recoil of the Metal Eater, and thereafter running in a straight line towards the hovering IS, Hamazura hoped to use the explosion as a mean of propulsion to reach the IS while it was distracted by dodging his attacks.

That was really good, much better than some silly assignment :P

I've considered doing a Infinite Stratos story myself, even though I've only seen the anime and only skimmed the light novels, but i would want to do it with either Touma or Accelerator and since Accelerator would curbstomp all of the IS's (ISes?) and Touma wouldn't be able to do anything I decided against it. Anyways what I'm trying to get at is that putting Hamazura in that world is a really cool idea. It would be like Heavy Object with more fanservice.
