God damn. The Fifth being unable to pass on his last skill was played with so much and he still managed to pull off a serious and moving scene at the end.

I'm curious what the Fifth's bloodthirsty whip sword (with Milleia's buff) will be capable of, since the Fifth claimed it was good at slaughtering a large number of enemies. It's also neat how not just the skills but each weapon is a representation of the ancestors' personalities and desires.

And finally Lyle's last skill. I suppose we won't be seeing it for a while, since because if using it makes the Jewel lose its power, there's a need to wrap up with the Third and Seventh still. Or maybe the reason the skill is hazy to Lyle is precisely because he hasn't completed the ancestor skill gauntlet. I wonder if this is just a false alarm and the skill is just basically the same thing the Jewel does, except just without the Jewel. I also can't help but wonder if Lyle unlocking his third skill means he can make a Katana or Sabre like with the other weapons.

Anyway, RIP Fifth (and Milleia), you were one of my favorites.

They basically pass on yes, but they're all aware they're all already dead in reality and don't want to overstay their welcome. They also try to avoid forcing their opinions on Lyle and encourage Lyle to find his own solutions, trying to keep the advice to a minimum. After they pass on, their room disappears and the weapon that symbolizes them takes their place at the council.

According to Shannon who can see mana, the Jewel used to consist of 7 lights, and each time an ancestor passes on, that light becomes a part of Lyle. Shannon, being a dummy, didn't realize what this meant until the ancestor reveal, though. It's hinted that these skills literally become Lyle's and he can probably even use them without the Jewel, but as Lyle has literally never taken the Jewel off of his person throughout the entire story and probably won't ever as it's an heirloom if nothing else, we may never find out.

The beings inside the jewels are artificial constructs of the people. The jewels don't contain a soul or anything cause they were dead a long time ago. Think of them as AI, and since their job is to pass on the skills, once each one is done, they shut down for good

only to wake up(resurrect) again once there's a worthy descendant holds the jewel (plus the various Lyles) . .

still on war between Beym and Banseym. Lyle and troops are resting at camp arranged by Zayn. While the soldiers are drinking and partying outside, Lyle, inside the tent, is having tea with Selma (the previous saint of Zayn). Gracia of Galelia and Eliza of Luswaaz, surprised about the song of Lyle and Selma, are obviously displeased when they barged in to the tent and spot Lyle and Selma inside. Both, asked Lyle about the song, and Lyle in defense said that it's just a song, blurted out the fact that the same happened with Aura (current saint of Zayn) which flames Eliza and Gracia even more. As Lyle tried to think of some excuse... suddenly his body felt heave like a lead... which is a symptom of the "FEVER"......

This is what, his seventh growth now unless I lost count (I probably did)? Guess Tanya's going to get added to harem after all; it felt like she's been getting a lot of development and recent in-depth examples on her skill usage anyway.
I'm curious how many are going to be in his harem at the end... The two Zayn saints have rumors about them being in it (and the previous saint really seems like she would like to be), the didn't-pass-the-Novem-test princess's country still has to offer a sacrifice to Lyle (cue the woman knight whose growths are just as bad as Lyle's), and then there was the mountain country that planned to send his daughter or sister (or both!)

It's also probably sad (and scary) that having a casual tea party with his harem caused him to level up.

Wow! This is getting interesting. I'd decline having a tea party with this line-up if it were me. Way to go, Lyle!

Third, you're evil. The Fifth said harems aren't fun and games!

I noticed a commenter mentioned that Lyle's third skill might be basically the Knight of the Rounds from Final Fantasy 7, ancestor version.
I mean, what we know about it:
-It can only be used once.
-Using it requires the Jewel, and after using it the Jewel will lose its power.
-Its theme is probably "Past Experience".
-He currently can't use it (likely because he hasn't mastered the Third and Seventh's skills.)
-It's overpowered as hell.

And holy shit Milleia's buff on the Fifth's weapon is nasty... As expected of Milleia!
