"weird" or psychological

Looking for something "weird" and/or psychological , good examples being Bakemonogatari and serial experiments Lain. I can't think of any others off the top of my head. Age doesn't bother me, and either anime or manga is good with me.

Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Perfect Blue, all top the list and are from Satoshi Kon.

FLCL is pretty good.

Blue Submarine 6 was rather weird.

Tsubasa Chronicle gets really weird towards the end, if you can get past the fluff.

Ergo Proxy will give you more psychological navel-gazing than you ever wanted or knew you wanted!

Monster you should watch though. Also Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Try Boogiepop Phantom. Don't be thrown off by the name, it's dark and great.

Now that Aoi is finishing the subs for Mouryou no Hako (thank you, Shinkun!), I've been re-watching the series from the beginning, and it's a good fit for your request. Mononoke might also have some appeal.

Toaru No Majutsu No Index gets really "weird" and insanely psychological at some points.

I would definitely go with Paranoia Agent to meet this description.

I second Chaos;Head. It was psychologically deep, IMO.

Here's the Evangelion thread. By searching the for the keyword Evangelion under "titles only", you can also find the thread for The End of Evangelion, and the thread for the movie-series that's currently remaking the series.

I'll have to second Welcome to the NHK! (NHK ni Youkoso!), Toaru Majutsu no Index, and FLCL. By far, FLCL fits the most to what you want.
