Seitokai Yakuindomo Tsuda Takatoshi is about to begin his first year in Ousai Academy. His decision to enter Ousai was based upon it being close to his home and he paid no heed to the fact he'd be among the first boys to enter the recently gender-integrated school. On his first trip to school, Takatoshi is surrounded by girls; the train has nothing but girls, the walk to school has nothing but girls and once he finally arrives he is approached by a group of girls and summarily appointed vice-president of the student council and, as expected, he is the only boy there. Now Takatoshi finds himself surrounded by crazy girls (with the exception age 16, loli IQ 180 girl, which always get teased for her height and even arrows where drawn to indicate she's around the group while the camera is on the other characters) who do nothing but horrify him with their candid conversations about feminine hygiene products and, what's worse, assume he's the worst kind of man, the kind who doesn't clean himself and watches porn all day long. |

I haven't tried Seitokai Yakuindomo. I'm probably not going to pick up another student council comedy anime since Seitokai no Ichizon's humor was just so tears-inducingly hilarious that my expectations for every other show would be too high. Plus, I don't like sex jokes.

Ōkami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi A romance comedy parodying fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, The Ant and the Grasshopper etc. Ryōko Ōkami (the eponymous Ōkami-san) is a tomboyish high school girl. She is a member of a "trading" club so called Otogi High School Bank. She and the other members of the club (such as her partner Akai Ringo aka Little Red Riding Hood) fixes student's (or "client") problems, at any lengths, in exchange for the student helping them out later. At some point of the anime storyline, some episodes also make parodies of other anime. I started to like this series due to a funny main male character lead and the crazy lolis (Rie Kugimiya is around voicing the Rabbit loli despite being a minor character) surrounding him. Episode 8 is the best parody of animes so far of all time Gintama, Yakitate Japan, and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, featuring Saimoe Japan 2009 champion and Biri-biri among the cameo appearance. |

I love Ookami-san. People say that Ryouko is a ripoff of Taiga (which is NOT true, Ryouko kicks more ass and has a more shocking background, sorry Taiga) when she's actually pretty different. They constantly criticize Ryoushi for having a phobia (I have a phobia of something myself and I know exactly how something considered normal by other people is terrifying to me) when later on we see his character develop and strengthen over the course of the series. And yes, I'm one of the people who liked the narrator/Kuroko's voice. People complain way too much about Ookami-san.
The fairytale theme of the series is really original, and I loved watching every second of it. It managed to mix lighthearted romantic comedy with serious moments at times, and I actually think that J.C. Staff kicked up the budget in the art here since some frames looked gorgeous. Second season want. I loved episode 8's crazy cameos too, but as a side note I have to say I dislike Mikoto. No offense.

Anime of the Day
Nanaka 6/17 The story focuses on a cold and distant 17-year-old girl, Nanaka Kirisato, who only cares about studying to get good grades in school and being accepted into a good college. Nenji, her childhood friend, doesn't really care about school and will often get into fights. Soon, Nanaka has an accident that causes her mind and memories to be reverted back to the time when she was 6 years old. Nenji ends up becoming the 6-year-old Nanaka's babysitter until they can find a way to turn her back into the 17-year-old Nanaka, which causes trouble and comedic situations. It really happens in real life. |

True, that. It's disassociative psychosis. The mind blocks out the preceding trauma by pulling up a happier personality...in Nanaka's case, when she was six. I sure hope she was potty-trained by then! :-) == MadPanda...(College = my online life's vacuum)... Last edited by MadPanda; 2010-10-02 at 20:43. Reason: it's been awhile... |
