The one issue I have with the "ED pic is a photo in the past" is that it would mean that all of these kids were mind-wiped to forget ever meeting each other. But then, if that was the case, why did Maizono recognize Naegi? It's an odd exception.

Maybe the "mind wipe" only affected the time where they made the first step into their new school, until they awoke inside the "game area". So in this case Naegi's and Maizono's memories are from before that time frame.

If we're discussing possible "mind wipes," are we thinking that the culprits have magical powers? It would explain a few things (how all of the captives could have been knocked out without any side effects, how Monokuma moves around) but that feels... cheap. Or are we going for mysterious drugs?
Also, is anyone else bothered by how the captives pay so much attention to the "clues" about the what's going on with the school? Even as an anime-only viewer, it seems pretty obvious that the culprits would only have left items they wanted the captives to find inside the school, so they wouldn't have left anything genuinely useful, right? Even if Fujisaki actually had time to program a full AI in the time between finding the laptop and getting killed (which I doubt), it isn't like the culprits would have left anything important on it, right? |

I'd also like to point out that it might be coffee.

^it's fun to read that final sentence because of your avatar
but is it really chuuni if she's the real deal? :P Actually, Byukuya seems surprisingly calm with a serial killer stalker following him around

anyway, the fat guy had the camera that celes found, look at him in the ED. there's also that locked room in the 3rd floor that asahina can't open. and no, the super duper high school best girl isn't the culprit. SHE CAN'T BE! I already knew celes was the mole, based on the tea cup in a previous episode, but I was also looking at the fat guy being the mole, but he's dead so that rules him out. and who is yasuhiro? also, we can easily explain why naegi is with all those dead people at the ED. he's the super duper high school ghost. rather than list everything, I'll just state my conclusion: Spoiler for Speculation:
the laptop issue remains to be solved.

well, the door which Asahina couldn't open seems to be the room where they later found the body in, so that's one "mystery" sorted.
I wonder why Yamada said the name of the idiot though, and where is he during all this anyway?

Whether the clues got relocated is to be seen, they certainly got changed to make it less obvious though... A very important clue that has been left out of the anime should have already been given in EP one, it is too late to tell now though, as it would unavoidably spoiler the entire case. Even if we bring it in a bit more hidden it would make everything so glaringly obvious that you can drop next week's episode alltogether and wait for EP 8 if we anyone mentions it now. Also mind that this is an animated version of the game, so the viewers are expected to look at the entire scene themselves even without anyone pointing at the clue with their fingers. One thing I think I should mention though is the huge apparatus in the Physics lab - Monokuma should have appeared at this point and: Spoiler for The apparatus - Should have happened before Ishimaru's death:

What a mess. And with the last case establishing that some of the class will tamper with evidence on a whim, it leaves me with no interest in working out the details, since they'll likely prove partially irrelevant anyway. The entertainment value will have to come from the assorted lunacies of the survivors

If Fujisaki programmed Alter-Ego, where did he get enough voice samples of Oowada to construct the message for Ishimaru? Seems to me that something like Fujisaki deliberately collecting voice samples would have been worth mentioning, but it wasn't. But the kidnappers would have plenty of voice samples, since they have all the video cameras. And there might be even better proof that someone besides Fujisaki is responsible for Alter-Ego: What floor is that particular changing room on? The door is different from the one to the sauna Oowada and Ishimaru battled in, and they treated the revelation of there being no security cameras like a new thing, so it seems possible that it could be on the newly-opened third floor. If that's the case, then the kidnappers are definitely behind Alter-Ego, because the third floor was closed until after Fujisaki died. It would have been impossible for him to set it up like that. Or it could be that he loved Alter-Ego that much, and Celes was using it as a hostage. |

But the voice samples and all, chalk that up to this being a work of fiction. Similarly, where's the AC adapter for the laptop, and how could it be plugged in to a cubbyhole? Ta-da, fiction.

Alter Ego IS created by Fujisaki Chihiro because he is the best high school programmer. |
