He is merchant without any particular specialisation, so yes he should know about textiles and clothes production... and about more or less everything that can be monetised. be it accessories, fruits, metalurgy or livestock.
And again supply and demand in traditional sense doesn't apply on custom order between two individuals. Those are literaly matter of negotiation.

Supply is another component. Will he have enough to keep up with the demand or not? |

Well yes, but this case it just means he is not idiot and knows very basic stuff every merchant should.
That's correct as I said before once it goes on market price will obviously have to be set lower. How much it will be should be left on Bennio who understand it better then Mein or Lutz. Either way, it's not like it's meant to be long term bussiness. Over winter family makes stock and it will be sold on spring. That should be good enough to test waters, if it works Mein can sell know-how later.

Finally got the time to watch the anime and reread the LN translation..
Honestly I was pretty impressed with the anime. I like how they rush the pace but put it in a way by having a narrative every time they skipped parts in the LN. It's like I'm enjoying a book but with visual and sound. The atmosphere is pretty nice too for Part 1 of Honzuki. Not sure whether they're going to animate other parts though..

Never read this LN, but I was pretty impressed by the anime (just got to it). It's pretty light-hearted (and likely targeted at the lower-age audience than I am), but it's surprisingly easy to watch and flows perfectly. For being a slice of life series it also has a pretty defined storyline and great progression. Also, Mine is cute.

Simple example. You go to a respectable shop and see two different rings. You know nothing about them and fairly have little fashion sense, but one costs 30$ and another 300$. If you love your wife and want to make her happy, which will you more likely buy (if you have enough money to spare, of course)? |

For as much as we have seen all the people in this series are kind-hearted and good. And in truth, even if he was a coldblooded merchant that cares only about profit, he still would care a lot for her, because she is bringing him lots of money and will also do so in the future.
Also, could they be any clearer about the easy way to solve her "too much mana" problem without spending money (actually even making a lot)? I liked the "subtle" hint when it got introduced, but this episode it was so blatant that one would have to try really hard to not see it. I don't want to spoil anyone (even though I also haven't read the source), so I am avoiding stating it, but not sure whether there is the need anymore. |

What was up with preview casually spoiling how they're going to treat Main? Benno can get a magic tool from the Guild Master for 2 small gold and he gave Main three earlier in the episode. Shouldn't be any problem. And yes, it's nice to know I was wrong and he was looking out for her.

Particularly interesting considering his initial was precisely two small gold, the exact price of the life-saving treatment. He was making sure she could afford it; the extra coin was just bonus for the value of her knowledge and a demonstration of approval for her learning a bit of proper merchant behavior.

(I suspect the long term solution is going to be trombe related...) |

Yep, that was unexpected, though I was seriously wondering how the priest can get any serious screentime at this rate. However, it is a very nice surprise.
And since it is already kind of out I won't hold back (this is not a spoiler, I know nothing about the original work). The trombe is clearly living of the mana in the land, not nutrients (at least not mainly). That also explains why it hasn't destroyed the land as it usually does during the one time Mine met with it and also why it got so "hot" and why Mine's illness got better for so long after that incident. It sucked up lots of her excess mana. So the miraculous cure is sure to be the trombe and Mine can even make a nice buck by using it as essentially free material source. |

Like any plants, trombe have one year cycles for seeds, so they can only be found on the seed state Myne found it during a short period, and it's not especially easy to spot something mostly buried (maybe even completely buried most of the time).
Let's assume that the Trombe fruit can suck a part of her mana, it didn't suck enough for her at all since she still collapsed a few months later (and when she encountered the trombe she wasn't just about to collapse either) so one at best probably made her win one month in this case; so it would be like what, 15 used per year at least right now just to be safe? And the amount of mana generated like said increase as she grows up, so she would need more and more , while still only having them available in the forest during a short period of the year and not that easy to find? And you want the fruit to save every Devoured child and not just her on top of this? I'm honestly not sure that this is a realistic solution for Myne right now. If she had several years to organise an industry based on that need and employ a lot of peoples ion varoius forest to search and find those during the proper season then employ devoured child to provide said mana then yeah, but Myne at the end of e pisode 10 certainly didn't feel like she had years in front of her to do all of that.
