I personally dont like french people
so far
all the french people i met are all close minded
they think they are so disciplined..and never accept other peoples' opinion
usually the old french ladies..always get on my nerves
well like it or not
thats my feeling toward French
I Hope you're not a close minded person
because if you are....you wont live happy there =p

Anyway, back on topic. It's not the showers that are important (well, ok, they are, too), it's the deodorant!

Also, don't forget to bring a bunch of cocktail size white flags, so if you are eating a bratwurst or something and you can't finish it, you can quickly surrender, thereby avoiding any casualties.

Ack! I can't believe I forgot to mention this before. I hope you can forgive me for not informing you of it sooner but...

In order to survive in our country, you must have at least a basic knowledge of the Simpsons. You simply cannot progress in our society unless you know about them! As long as you have a large amount of knowledge pertaining to the Simpsons, you'll be accepted by your peers no matter how French you act.

I would say South Park is more relevant.

And on top of it, knowledge of Jerry Springer will definitely help -- you dont need to know what those people are talking about (like the affair among a bisexual she-male and his(?) 3 boyfriends and 2 girlfriends) or whether the show is staged (dont ever say the show is not staged in front of your american friends, or all hell will break loose.... trust me); all you need is when Steve will give out beads and the exact timing you should shout "jerry! jerry" or "take it off".

I know Simpsons, South Park (i've watched those show in vo) and Jerry Springer.
Jerry Springer sucks!! It's fiction, uninteresting, gross and not even funny...
Simpsons rocks but i've never been a true fan, i just watch on TV and I must admit it one of the jewel of american culture (no joke), South Park is good but the last season is a bit over exagerated i think.

When people make jokes about the French, its usually in good humor. If they are seriously dissing the French for something their ancestors did ages ago, then they're probably an asshole, not just to the French.

heeh... you'll be fine.

the states' ppl in general are welcoming.. sure, once or twice some problem... but other than that, it's all good.

in simpler term: we're all human, no matter where we come from...some are just... a tad more eccentric than others
