Oh, I can tell you that much without spoilers: you're right. Bittersweet endings are one thing, but the game doesn't feature any prominent "bad ends" at all. It's not that sort of game.

Haha -- well, I'm still getting the episode myself, but from the screenshots, I'd actually say they look very close to the "proper sizes" as seen in the game. Just that their usual uniforms in the anime somehow mask it.

And speaking of the game, interestingly enough, they've now animated both of the events from the "ultimate pre-stories" in Da Capo II Spring Celebration (though the first episode was obviously a bit different from the game equivalent). The promo page for the equivalent to this episode in the game is here (including a few sample CGs -- NOTE: other pages on that site are NSFW). The fact that they're going through and dutifully animating all the major events from the game (including the stuff from the fandisk) gives me a lot of hope for the events to come. We're finally approaching Winter, the true beginning of the game's story...

The more I watch this show, the more I can appreciate and even like what they're doing with the game story. They're really going to be able to cover all 6 paths (and the pre-stories) in one go -- who knew it was even possible? I guess this is what you get when you get the game's best writer doing the anime script. Also, I'm even more sure of my suspicion from the first episode regarding Yume's attitude now, thanks to her little comment in this episode.

Overall, the episode itself is sort of silly and fanservicey (a lot like the game equivalent), but the interactions with Koko (and the continued progress of their relationship) make it a lot more than that. It's hard not to like Koko, and Yoshiyuki is also showing himself to be a pretty decent guy. I liked this episode. Next week's title is "Ato 2 senchi no kyori", which I think means something like "Another 2cm apart" or "Just 2cm away".

a pretty pointless episode imo but it doesnt mean that its bad...certainly when it comes to looking at our couple's "troubled" faces

the loli made me laugh the most...anju clone FTW! XD

she sure knows how to cause embarrassment for yoshiyuki even if i did find it absurd that she was able to hold his head down on koko's chest...a part of me would like to believe that he was enjoying it so offered "fake" resistance XD

then comes the "aaaahhhhh" but...she can feed me anyday ^^

and the attempt at seducing yoshiyuki? thats my high point for her in this ep

pretty good but pointless...im not just waiting for yume to offere more resistance so we can get the drama started :3

This Show is failing as a Harem i had so much hope when i found out they was making it. For crying out load the guy already has a GF and like DCSS its like 99% chance he sticks with her to the end making every other girl in this show pointless *Booo i wanted Nanaka to win =( but altest nemu wont win again thats a pro. Ill still check out a couple more eps maybe we can get some drama into this with a bunch of pointless girls ending with confessions with all of them getting rejected.

Soooooo.... a confession followed by a breakup followed by a reunion doesn't appeal to you? Probably should avoid Lovely*Complex as well....

Though we actually have no clue if that sequence is what is planned or not. I, for one, am pretty tired of generic path ero-date sequences. Anything they can do to mix it up or give it some fresh air is a Good Thing.

I actually find stories where the couple hooks up in the begining to be a breath of fresh air, since its a break from guessing whos going to end up with whom now that you're guessing whether or not they'll break up. And if they break up, will they get back together? Or will they find someone else?

But honestly, I can't get tired of the ol' eroge formula. Well, as long as there's an osana-najimi char to root for, that is.

Of course, tripling my chances (like this and Myself;Yourself) ain't so bad either...

its funny how I bought the game and haven't really touched the surface of it yet, and I got it when it came out! Then againg i've got quite the backlog of games I have yet to start.

Koko atm seems to have the goddess of failure x 2* backing her, I just hope two negatives make a positive

The two goddesses being Nanaka (representing Kotori) and Sakura (representing herself ).
Yoshiyuki imho does seem to like Koko more then just as a friend. When Koko confessed to him, i think he was suffering from childhood friend syndrome. He might have accepted Koko's confession because he didn't want to see her cry, but I don't think he is the type of guy to do that.

It was great seeing them bumble around on the first foot steps of their relationship, especially since I haven't seen anyone act as a hindrance to it, instead everyone seems rather supportive! Even banana girl doesn't seem to be deliberately getting in the way, but I do hope to see her flaming on 2ch soon.

Waiting to see how big sis and little sis will react, I am hoping that Nemu jr won't flash her dark side card. Actually if there is going to be a dark one I'd rather it be Otome.

I loved the way they are using the band to solidify their relationship and please someone tell those love hand book writers to put in a huge disclaimer that there is no way to know what a woman is thinking in general never mind expecting to know everything about them after accepting their confession after a few days....

My weird observation about Yoshiyuki's "dreams"...

Why are his dreams about the future? Wasn't Junichi just a dreamgazer, looking into 'other people's dreams'? Please remind me. Incidentally, the two dreams are about Koko, and I don't think Koko experienced those dreams.

Because they're already integrating Yume's plot into the story (from the opening scene, in fact). In other words, those dreams are actually Yume's dreams, which also explains her attitude towards Yoshiyuki. When Koko said "I even dreamed about it" in the first episode, that was a ruse. Fourth episode doubly confirms it. I wondered how they'd manage to fit Yume into the story, and this is pretty smart IMO.

After ep 4 I've grown to really liking DCII, such a fun show where the coupling is established at the beginning so we don't have to go through the generic path.

Also, Yoshiyuki joining the band in ep 3 was awesome, Nee-san's jealousy was entertaining as well.

Thats why so far shes been the most obnoxious character ive come across in the show...After her little stint in episode 3 I just wished she disappear for good to be honest...

Either way it was a cute episode and im glad they havent already killed koko's chances. Hopefully the series ill be more like episode 3 and less like 2.

Oh come on... she wasn't being obnoxious, she was just curious (and a bit concerned). She just wants to make sure her dear little brother isn't doing anything ecchi because, as Mahoro taught us, ecchi things are bad! To each their own I guess. Personally, I find "big sister" Otome to be quite funny and her doting quite endearing, though I suppose that one scene wasn't enough to tell the full story. Someone's gotta be the responsible one in the family, and it sure isn't gonna be either Sakura, Yume, or Yoshiyuki.
