James Vega eh? Might be interesting. Though PRODUCTION IG?! At the least, it's going to look very, very pretty

Production IG? The ones involved in Halo Legends?

...I think I'll wait for actual screencaps before commenting further. They have their share of highs and lows.

Anyway, I guess this story will be set between ME1 and 2? No wait, that can't be. Until Shephard, no one ever got a clue about the Collectors, which means that there were always no survivor. Hmm, so this is set during ME2 instead.

The video supposedly doesn't show any meaningful content anyway, so nothing lost there.

As long as the don't have a "reverse-bladed swords can't kill people (despite the blunt injury)" bullshit I'm in

None of the Halo Legends episodes are particularly noteworthy, certainly not enough to warrant "It's IG it must be good!!!" sentiment. And then there's the inconsistent visual quality of GC.

Frankly, the only reason I still have faith with them is out of respect of GitS.

Here's a first look at the anime designs from FUNimation themselves. This is from SXSW at Austin. It confirms that the anime is coming out late 2012, and that it will be a 2D production from Production IG instead of a 3DCG one like Dragon Age. You can see various designs for James Vega, the Geth, and various locations, aliens, weapons, etc. The video is also available in HD so you can see the designs in a higher resolution.

Note that while the FUNimation guy says that the character designer worked on Eureka Seven, it is definitely NOT Yoshida's work, so I don't really know who he's referring to. The art looks pretty generic anyway.

It really looks nothing like Mass Effect.

Also, why Vega? Couldn't they have picked a more interesting character?

They should have made it about the protheans, or the geth. Vega's about as interesting as doing my taxes.
