The OST for the series is absolutely amazing. This is the first time I see Sawano's OST in action and I really enjoy his style. Looking forward to the OST release.

Probably going to be a pretty crucial part of my ability to enjoy the show since Sawano music has in some cases helped me to enjoy a shows key scenes more, but recently in a lot of cases actually brought them down for me or made them feel almost sarcastically cool somehow. It's still early but this seems like a small step back up for Sawano from Kill la Kill to where he was with Attack on Titan....maybe. Still not hearing anything that makes me think he might recapture what he had going on with Unicorn now where it still feels like he put in by far and away the effort of his career to date.

It's really going to depend on just how much of it actually turns out to be those vocal tracks vs more varied composition cause I really hate the style of them ever since Guilty Crown aired peaking with Kill La Kill and wish he'd get back to a more mixed orchestral style cause if people think he's amazing with what he's got going on now (which I kind of disagree with), he's actually significantly better than anything he's done for Television and I was almost convinced he was going to become my favorite modern composer. Maybe he still is and has just hit some road bumps lately, or maybe he really has changed styles since he caught my attention with Gundam Unicorns soundtrack that seemed like such a good fit for it (which lately is part of the problem since I find myself asking why some of his soundtracks are the fit for the shows they are used with since they just kind of all sound far too similar to his last one). It could just be how they chose to use his soundtrack in Kill La Kill but I was so tired of that Don't Lose Your Way song and the Blumenkranz one by the end of the show I started to feel an ironic sense of hype every time they played.

^Yeah, Sawano's vocal tracks are becoming overused. It was powerful in the first episode as a series opener, but we could have done without in the next two. In the past, it felt like we only had insert songs during pivotal moments, or maybe at a series' end, but now they're being used so often, it detracts from moments that are meant to be epic. Don't get me wrong, the music is fine, but I feel like the more it's overused, the less impacting it becomes when it needs to be. I'm hoping they lay off the use of it for a while, at least until shit really starts to happen, but from the looks of things, we're probably going to get these tracks for every little skirmish.

I'm enjoying some of the insert songs, but overall the OST doesn't impress me. The ending is nice but the lyrics are utter nonsense, so sometimes kills my concentration. The opening is nice but sounds kalafina generic opening.

Yea, pretty much. The tracks are alright on their own but if you mix a bunch of Sawano soundtracks and I won't be able to tell them apart in a year or two. And the OP is catchy but yea, also generic.

To the best of my ability I interpret the English's part of the Ed as "I Say Cry" but than I went on TvTrope and someone there hear as "I Say Fry" , I do like Sawano's music but sometime I really wished he either just used plain Japanese or someone who sing actual German/English or whatever X languages.

I wish that he didn't use such weird names for certain parts of the soundtrack. It makes them real annoying to look up later.

Is that not just the same song as the one used as the insert song though. It sounds like it is, just a different cut of the full track. If it's not than I really guess it's true that Sawano's music tracks are becoming all but completely indistinguishable from each other as I could swear it's that same chorus again.

The song sounds the same, but the vocals and the mix sound different for some reason. According the website, the vocalist in both EDs is the same: "mizuki". Didn't Mika Kobayashi do the vocals for the insert version?

The song for now is called "aLIEz".

Cool lyrics. Though I thought "I say rising heaven" was actually, "I say rise again"? At least that was how it sounded in aLIEz version.

Also, listening to both version (the ED and ending song) the two singers sound different, and the sound like different verses. Instead of "I say rise again", in the insert version (Mika), it sounds like another word that ends in "-er". I could be wrong, but it's just what it sound like to me.

Now that I'm looking at it again, I can actually pin down some of the songs that stood out, such as "BRE@TH/LESS" being the insert song when Trillram was fighting against Inaho and crew.

And "MKAlieZ", must be the Mika Kobayashi's version of "aLIEz".

As for all the others, I have no clue.

Also, it's kind of funny that the more I look at it, the more "aLIEz" looks like "allies". Could it be a play on that in this series, that your allies are always lying to you and don't trust them?

Interesting thoughts for how this series will continue.
