ARE YOU KIDDING ME. it took him freaking 100+ chapters to pull this in a kimi machi. why why why. i feel so bad for Suzuka and Yamato.

though i'm very interested in "a legend was about to begin." you don't forget a first love like that.

also, cameo from Daiki.

that said, Seo always did do quasi-realistic and not always happy storylines. like teenaged pregnancy was a HUGE shock for me when i first read Suzuka.

Frankly, I'm kinda happy for this development. It takes guts to not only kill off the titular character, but exceptional stones to kill off the child from previous protagonists. If true, it would open up some great development possibilities for our main character.

Besides, tragedy and music tend to go hand in hand.

^^ oh, i'm actually incredibly excited for the rest of the story. the potential for character development is HUGE because of this. Yuu will never be truly over her. seeing how the rest of the manga plays out with this specter hanging over his character will be amazing (or a train wreck.)

Damn. I can't believe he actually did it.

So we don't get any lines or even an appearance from the grieving parents, but Haruto's stupid kid from KNIM makes a cameo? And our protag returned to being spineless. Shit, even Haruto made it to Kazama's funeral.

Seo, you can't do drama. Well, okay, you can do drama...you just can't do it very well.

Needless to say, I will be continuing to follow this manga. Schadenfreude.

so any idea who this new love interest will be? fuuka's dead, there's no chance for tama that's for sure. fuuka's sister is too young even in timeskip. Sara would definitely be far away from you that not only did tama coulda wished this but Sara probably didn't mean for Fuuka to die. so i wonder who Yu will end up with?

it's also insulting to see the spawn of yuzuki and haruto in this chapter as well as some asshole reporters. UGH!

I think I understand what you're trying to say, but...you do realize fiction isn't just spontaneously created out of thin air right? If Seo doesn't "direct" the story, new chapters of Fuuka aren't gonna just magically materialize out of nowhere...

That being said, it is certainly possible for him to poorly write the direction the story takes...but saying you want a story to flow "naturally" and not be directed by the author is something that just cannot happen. As long as Seo is writing and drawing Fuuka, it is wholly his story.

I can write this kind of story, too!" message. All of a sudden, the lead characters don't putz around for ages: They meet, develop interest, fall in love, decide and properly reject other interests, confess, accept, come out, kiss - WITHOUT all the oohing and aahing and oomphing. Just like a normal reasonably confident couple would, WITHOUT being all Seo about it. And then bam. I'm very curious how long the rest of the story will take - if he goes for the fast ending, or if he plans to develop the story longer from now on. At the very end, I'm sure that cyberdemon has the right idea - his first baby girl will be "Fuuka". Seeing this almost makes me a bit apprehensive for his other story (in my opinion his BEST work by far), "Half and Half". I always hoped that he would allow the couple in the longer version a way out, compared to the one-shot. I can say that if he does, I will cheer now. At the very least, the longevity of Seo stories has just skyrocket. He broke out of his own setting. A gutsy move.
