I think he was supposed to be having the operation 'today' in the manga (the day they left - only a few hours has passed since the team left). I think that was what Neji meant when he said 'You have other things to worry about'. I look forward to a good explanation.

Also, if Lee doesnt have to worry about the repercussions of the fight, then he has the full power of the five gates he can open, I think he woudl be able to put up a decent challenge Kimimaro, or at least delay him sufficient to allow Naruto to catch Sasuke.

Kishimoto will have an explanation for what happened, dont fret that it's just going to be one of those lame Showing up miraculous healing circumstances.
I haven't been disappointed with the first 209 chapters, there's no reason to believe we will be now.

No need for spoiler tags, but I dont see why anyone who would arrive to let Naruto go after Sasuke would pose as Lee (please dont anyone be so dense as to suggest Itachi).

It could be Kabuto. If I recall corectly, Kabuto didn't wan't Oro to get Sasuke.

they translated Rock Lee as the Azure beast. Azure is blue not green. If this is a mistranslation, than it means nothing. But if the translation is correct, It could mean it is an imposter, and not the real Lee.

The raw uses the word aoi which usually means blue but can also mean green. the translation is correct, but not accurate giving the context.

He could easily stop Sasuke himself, and besides, why would he pose as Lee? It still wouldnt make any sense. Also, we dont know that he doesnt want Orochimaru to get Sasuke, he never really had a chance to make a decision in the hospital, as Kakashi interuppted him. (Before you say about him lowering the scalpel to him, he was moving it to throw it at Kakashi, as he explains right after).

I just read the chapter and wow. Pretty good chapter. Now that Lee is back I expect an explanation in the next chapter to ease the readers questions. Next chapter should be a good one too.

Kishimoto better have a very good explanation as for why Lee is there and looking very healthy. and whats with this new last ditch jutsu Shikamaru is talking about?? this whole "last resort that fucks you up" trend is getting WAY old...

It should be mentioned that there's a mistranslation in Inane.

From page six, Shikamaru says about Neck Bind, "But if I let go even once, I'll surely be killed."

Next page, he says "Yappa kono jutsu de kata wo tsukeru shikane na"

Kono means "this," so in reality, Shikamaru's saying "I guess I'll have to put all my effort into this jutsu," meaning Neck Binding, not any new "last resort."

I was waiting anxiously for a translation, so I didn't bother to think about this for the 1/2 second necessary to critique it...people have put forth the crazy suggestions that either Orochimaru is disguising himself as Rock, (So NOT what is going on.) or that Guy sacrificed himself in some sort of life transfer...reverse metempsychosis, if you will.

I don't know why people didn't combins the two, and come up with the far more plausible solution...wait for it...

Even further, Guy has a reason to do so. Guy said if the surgery didn't work out...he'd sacrifice his own life for Lee's nindo. What better way to do it than AS LEE? Fighting as Lee, and gaining reputation for Lee...showing people his path. Of course, it'll only work for so long...

So, while it still is a dark horse conspiracy theory, at least back one that makes sense in terms of continuity.

After reading the translation, and seeing the possible correction of the translation...Shika looks to be in a bad situation...

All his hard work and strategizing better not be just for a draw...he's completely outwitted Tayuya at this point...for her to just go, "Oh, Level 2." and end the match in a draw would totally suck...although...with reinforcements maybe it isn't all that bad...

The only satisfaction I'd get out of that is that instead of her going Level 2 and Shika sacrificing himself to beat her, she's sacrificing herself to beat Shika. Then I'd stop reading the manga.

I already laid out my conspiracy speculation for Rock's appearance, and I really have no freaking clue with Sasuke...Naruto's gotta be running WAY low on Chakra after dividing it by 10,000.

As glad as I am to see Rock Lee... I share everyone's collective "WTF?" in wondering how he's there.

Less than a day has gone by, Rock Lee was told by Tsunade it would be a long rehabilitation. The whole "Rock Lee operating on the open gates and being near death" thing makes some sense.

If the operation wasn't successful and he was about to die Tsunade may have had him gain consciousness long enough to open the gates (or even did it for him) to allow him the chance to accomplish one A-level mission as a ninja and prove that he could do it.

OTOH, does this mean we'll now have a Naruto-Sasuke fight drag out into summer? If it even happens at all... I'm still irked at the abbreviated Naruto-Sasuke roof showdown.

I can't believe the theory that Lee opens up some gates that fast, travels all the way out to where Naruto is, still has enough energy to fight and make the trip back. Guy would not allow that to happen, hell even the sarcastic and cruel Kakashi wouldn't do that. I also doubt that would be a good decision for the fifth to make in such a crisis.

While the theory that it is Guy in disguise is interesting I think that is very far fetched but then again so was Rock being the one to save the day. Guy fighting as lee and giving lee a rep is not the way that those two would want the word to spread. That hurts both of their character traits.

In conclusion, the most sound reason is that Lee had the surgery, it was quite brief he got healed by a medic nin or something and he is traveling with others to help the current team. I dont think that he is alone. More than likely the person that saved Kiba was from his team and could very well be hinata. Maybe sakura or ten ten came along to help out the rest of their teams possibly ino.

The previous paragraph makes some sort of sense to me so as a result it can't help but to be completely wrong. Honestly, I dont think that anyone will get this one right. Let's all just download other anime and manga until the next chapter is released!
