I guess Kanade was just having a short slump a few matches ago. Kanade completely demoilshes Eucliwood. While Eucliwood has been looking a bit weaker lately, it wasn't to the point where Kanade should be aiming for for a doubling. So while I think Kanade probably overporformed here, it's still good news for Kanade and not so great for Eucliwood. Yoshino really goes to town on Asuna. It feels like Asuna has had seem really bad performances lately. I thought she had started to recover after a decent result on Nanami but it doesn't seem to be the case. Mashiro may have been the best in Nova last year, but things aren't so easy in Stella. Being able to hang with Kuroneko does show that Mashiro is one of the strongest characters in the tournament, though. After Ayase's run last year, she's been fairly quiet. She almost manages a big upset over Mikoto. Ayase comes up a bit short, though. It seems like the strongest Date a Live character may be Kotori with her win over Kurumi. Season 2 is still going on so this result can still change by the time the playoffs roll around. Yozora nearly manages a huge upset over Kurisu. She falls short, though. Kuroneko faced both Yozora and Kurisu so this isn't even a SDO related rally. Necklace match is coming up and Kanade is not at a massive SDO disadvantage. Can anyone stop her?

Maybe people were mostly on the fence, like me, so they decided to sacrifice one for the other, unlike me who didn't want to vote on that match.

Also, finally a Dekomori win. Not sure what's the issue with Dekomori, she's a wonderful character that doesn't seem to get much of the series mojo boost. Not that I didn't like Furano. Not sure why Suguha generally loses more times than she wins when Asuna was generally winning from what I recall. Not many siscons voting I take it xP I wouldn't mind switching their win ratios xP Yoshino beating Asuna. I dared not dream, although Date a Live S2 is very underwhelming, I don't remember S1 being so crappy. And Mikan lost to Touka? While I am generally not warm to ToLoveRu girls winning, losing to Touka... Where does Touka get all these votes I'll never know.

Don't Eucliwood and Kanade appeal to the same fan base? Mysterious quiet girls, with Eucliwood being the more extreme of the two. So wouldn't Kanade naturally get both a big chunk of the mysterious quiet girl fanbase, and all of the voters who don't particularly like that archetype?

I do believe there exist subset of voters who belongs to the fan base you are describing. That used to be my explanation for Eucliwood's support but I was proven wrong when large number of Eucliwood fans showed their dismay when Eucliwood's golden chance for necklace seemed to take a big hit as 2013 Ruby 7 match was revealed. While I think what you described may have been the case for large number of voters, I do need to point out that Eucliwood has surprisingly large number of her own independent fans as well. This lopsided result may partly be attributed to the fact that Eucliwood's fans have been less active in promoting positive message about their characters compared to Hanakana fans, and also because they had been so quiet for such a long time, too many people may have mistaken Eucliwood as being an assassin in Hanakana faction's pay, which would have drawn ire of Mikoto fans or Kugyu fans.

How in the world Tokisaki lose LOL...(Now, I haven't watch DAL S2 yet, but I'm pretty sure Kirino Kotori is not exactly the "main" girl...).

B/c Dekomori have absolutely no story behind her...outside of Rikka, the only one that get a huge boost from S2, I would say, is Mori-sama since she has at least some development...

Not to mention, Dekomori needs to keep her hair down, she's a lot more kawaii with her long blonde hair instead of that twin-tail wannabe...

B/c Sugu is not even popular among SAO fans? Compare her to the popularity of Asuna or Shinon, she's way down there.

Personally, I'm more surprise in Nanamin beating Yukinon by this much anyway. Seriously, where's the love? Another Hayamin girl lose a close one, but then, losing to Biribiri is not exactly end of the world, consider where Ayase was before last year...

Last note? Nice to see Kanade doubling that certain necromancer. To this date I still have absolutely no idea what makes her even remotely popular...

I do remember seeing Kurumi with a convincing win over Kotori during seasonal tournament so I assumed the same would happen during Aqua 7 especially with the new season. Turns out Kotori won the match and by alittle more than a close match (Kotori is my main preference among the DAL reps so best result).

That however just created a conflict of interest in my necklace round voting. Mikoto already has an Aqua necklace so I can leave her out..... so that leaves Ruri (Kuroneko) and Kotori to decide on.

I was actually more surprised at Touka Yatogami's win against Tsukiko during Aqua round 2.

Mikan may not be strong, but she's actually ahead of her pace around this time last year. And she turned one of her losses last year against Yui (SAO) into a win.

Overperformances like this don't really occur just because two characters are similar. Also, this is far from the first time that Eucliwood has faced Kanade and Eucliwood has had normal performances in the past. I mean Kanade got big wins but Kanade gets big wins on everyone. Kanade never really did any better against Eucliwood than Kanade would against a different character who has similar strength to Eucliwood.
