You people were already warned about not starting pointless and off topic arguments. From here on out, I am simply going to start handing out infractions without any previous warnings.

Same here, Shiro-hime.
I didn't mind the whole "disappearing" bit or the coma... In my own mind, they eventually got back together and Sheryl woke up, as hinted by her mouthing the words to the song at the end of the animated bits of the credits - not to mention the whole "reunion" song later on.

So, I'm fine with the conclusion, even if we don't get any other continuation - but I would love to have more, even if on the same vein as the Nyan Clip thingie... but they could ease up on the 3D models, since they were not that good.

i was happy with how it ended, don't get me wrong. in my mind they get back together too, but i guess i just wanted a little more indication than Sheryl mouthing the words.

I'd be happy with an OVA of the two of them ( and the supporting cast ) just having fun and living a normal life on the Vajra planet.

Not that I think that this would be commercially viable. ^^

Hey, who knows? Macross 7 did have an after-life, so... Anything's possible.

Slice of life with magic singing and space-termites!

I couldn't even type that with a straight face. That's just about on par with the infamous Zentradi dating sim. -_-

"Hello Meltran. Do you want to do culture?"

Yeah, I see what you mean. Although it would probably hilarious to play.

To be honest, a slice-of-life OVA which is set after TV series end would be totally okay. Insert some minor threat to be dealt with ( a protoculture ruin on the Vajra planet whose defense systems have activated... or somesuch ) and you are good to go.

The recent Utawarerumono OVA's did do with something similar. Although those were a cop-out, as they were set during the series, not after.

Loved it!
Apart from the amazing visuals, music, battle segments yadda, yadda, Alto finally grew some tennis balls and resolved the whole messy (though in my mind, never was but meh) triangle; and actually if I were to give a title to the movie, it'd be goodbye to something else, but hey, not here to brag.

I gave it a 8/10.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sheryl and Ranka singing to space whales.

Given that there are lots of slice-of-life shows and I think a lot of Macross fans would like to see how their favorite characters live their mundane life, you might very well be right... I would totally be interested.

I'd watch it if it was R-18.

Seriously though, it wouldn't be a bad idea, far from that.

Then again... it was an eroge.

Oh well, dum spiro spero right? (at least, release the indecent version of epi 22, that could be somewhat of a condolence.)

Rewatched the movie, this time with subs.

It made me really want to know which will be considered canon; the series or the movies. Cause there is so many differences with the way thing played out.

At the core both forms are identical. But the differences like Grace's apparent redemption, the Galaxy fleet apperantly being destroyed, Alto and the Vajra.

So many things that conflict with what happen in the series.

BTW: Hybrid Pack owner. Limited Edition. The game Last Frontier is awesome. Still wish we could change control layout.

If prior practices count for something, its usually the blending of both aspects, series and movie. Usually this is more emphasized on the technical and graphical aspect of the verse in question, though.

I always thought the general rule was that the series were canon and the movies were the equivalent of an in-universe "based on a true story" film.

That's how some fans - especially Western ones - take it. I suggest checking out the thread on Macross "Canon" for more on what Kawamori himself has said about it.

Watched the movie. So much trolling

I was literally making FUUUUUU faces from the time Sheryl "died" till we found out she wasnt dead.

Needless to say, I liked the ending very much =P
