This episode cracked me up so much that I was laughing...

Anyways, besides that, it was a pretty good episode... and I laughed even more at the end... I think this must be a parody of meido cafes as implied.

This ep reminds me of something: That Kaichou's sister is just.... innovative? Innovation in my animes? She is so stone faced, so devoid of apparent emotion and just cuts the air with the hot knife of irony... I want to see more of her.

And i really can't see Misaki being White in Sentai..

On that scene itself, I liked it. Love the flat-toned, fast delivery of his lines.

So, episode 4. Seems like I'm a bit early this time? Admittedly I'm just following the first sub that shows up on streaming sites...

A bit late to be saying this, but the OP...is kinda, just, bad. I'd been trying to ignore it and not be judgemental, but four episodes in, I gotta admit that starting off with "Douka, please won't you keep my secret~" every time makes me feel a flush of embarassment and just puts every episode off to a poor start. It's not even a great representation of Misaki's character...no helping it, though.

Onto the episode itself:

So, what we have this time is pretty much a straight adaptation of chapter 13 along with a related end-of-volume side story, with a necessary scene from ch. 6 spliced in. Furthermore, seems like we're heading back to ch. 3 with the next episode, which is good in terms of getting on track with the continuity. The content, though, might be controversial...I remember I had some issues with Usui's characterization the first time I read it. Well, I guess it'll be fine.

Animation was a bit of a letdown this episode...not just Usui and Misaki, but (importantly) Aoi was a bit off in some scenes...I hope to see similar choruses of approval/cuteness as Misaki recieved at the start of the series. Pacing wise, I'm a bit disappointed they had to shoehorn Usui's 'master chef' reveal into here...that was one of the reasons I'd anticipated them returning to continuity after doing chapter 12 (I also wonder how they're going to fill out ch. 6 now). Nonetheless, the rest of the story was done pretty well, delivering two solid climaxes/resolutions which I hope will keep the 'character development' accolades coming. A couple of lines had to be cut for the second part, presumably for time, making for example Aoi's realization that Misaki is too poor to have any hope with fashion, or Misaki's confrontation with the purse snatcher, a bit too abrupt. On that note, I'm not too sure the anime-original segment with Misaki in a dress at the end was really necessary...I was somewhat jarred by having yet another scene after reaching the second nice resolution.

No real issues with the sound work or voice acting this time; I thought the emphatic 'thud' of the boxes Aoi saw Misaki carrying was a nice touch, covering for his somewhat weaker reaction than in the manga.

Anyway so, what do you think, guys? Here we've got a cross-dressing internet idol middle schooler, who was nearly raped by Usui to teach him a lesson about his 'men are delusional fools who'll fall all over themselves for a cute girl' mentality. Lol. Three emergent points of emphasis: the reinforcement of this show's connection to otaku culture; this show's very open treatment of gender and sexuality; and somewhat related to that, the sheer manly force of Usui's sexuality, lol. A bit of a departure from your usual shoujo, right?

A manageably enjoyable episode overall. No glaring defects as I felt with episodes 1 and 2. Hope they keep this up.

Lol, trap. Dunno, but I find him to be sympathetic worthy. To the point that I almost immediately started shipping him with Suzune even though the two hasn't met yet, as its so obvious that his crush on Misa is dead on the water from the very start lol.

Does anyone recognize what chapters the preview images were from, because I can't. I was hoping we'd get back to the normal timeline, but it's been postponed once again.

"That's such a trap." Even before the reveal! My anime intuition power level has increased!

(In the meantime practices cracking eggs manly style.)

Also, at 6:55 when he (Usui) starts chopping rice or whatever, I was like: "Oh my gawd it's AIZEN!"

I was a bit stumped as well, and the involvement of later characters like Aoi didn't help. I came to the conclusion that it really is chapter 3 this time, though...I'll have to rewatch it again to point out the exact details. But yeah, I think they're going back to the proper timeline this time finally.

Well the scenes with Aoi will obviously be filler, so any guesses on how long this is planned to run for? Chibi Usui is in the ending...which leads me to believe it may run even longer than 24-26 episodes.
